    preinflation preorder $599 + delivery direct? [Pre Order] PRISM+ XQ340 PRO (34" Curved, 165hz, 1ms, 3 Years Warranty) $599 + Delivery @ Prism+

Camels: looks like they set the price higher so they can unjack it to $550

    • +10

They often run Jack™️ promotions on the PRISM+ range on Amazon. The camel history looks shady.

      • I’d be pissed if I bought it during the Jack(™) period.
        Then again.. do your homework

    • +1

Cheers. This sort of behaviour deserves to be called out.

Not really a deal. It was this price when this model first came out 2 years ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/669254

Good thing you can jump in a Time Machine and buy it two years ago….oh wait you can’t.

      • +8

Technically its cheaper now than 2 years ago because of inflation.

samsung has a 34" 165hz 1440p 1ms monitor on sale for 499…might be the same panel, correct me if I'm wrong. this is a terrible deal, and prism can get f***d with their BS RRPs.

    • +5

      don't think that's the same panel, it's 1000R vs this 1500R.

Also that Samsung seems to have bad reviews for black smearing, color range, and viewing angles. No idea about this Prism though…

      • +1

Yes avoid Samsung monitors, they don’t even honor their warranty in my experience when it comes to picture issues. It’s within specifications line” is given. Even though two exact panels look different no matter how many adjustments are done.

      • +2

Its common for VA panels to have those issues. So I'd assume the Prism would have the same problem.

        • +2

I wonder what their warranty is like. Probably ok since it’s via Amazon.

Samsung’s 3 year warranty isn’t worth the paper it’s written on.

        • +1

nah there's a lot of variance… the newer panels in general fare much better. The G5 uses a relatively old 2019-2020 panel.

Someone published what panel the PRISM is using, but they seem to have refreshed it going from 144Hz to 165Hz, no idea if the panel changed.

          • +2

@xrailgun: Interestingly the problems I had were with a 2019 model Samsung monitor. A bad batch they’ve dumped in Australia, the tech giant’s favourite dumping ground. They wouldn’t dare do it to the USA. They would kick up a too much of a fuss.

  • +1

Any thoughts on this vs the AOC CU34G3S?

  • -2

its just another 600 dollar VA landfill display.

    • -6

      Better than IPS.

      • when you take away response times and ghosting issues. sure.

        • Or, when you can take the terrible Black levels and poor contrast from the IPS.

          • @Dienk: that's not as much of a problem as response time issues with VA. especially when that monitor is labelled as "gaming".

      • Are you high ? Theres a reason IPS is the most desired panel technology after OLED or quantom dot.

  • This brand have promotion with the same discount throughout the year similar to what they did in SG and those discount is just meh.

  • I misread this as OLED

  • Agree with above. Same discount all year round

  • +5

PRISM is just like the store HOUSE with its all year round 70% off

  • I have this monitor. For the price it is (I paid something similar to this), it's not a bad monitor
First thing I did was to ignore the low stand and mount it on a hydraulic arm.

  • +2

dishonest company, this is never at $1099, this company is always claiming things are 30-60% off

    can't trust them

  • +5

    Perpetually on sale.

I have one, it's ok. The Vesa mount is sketchy as. It's pretty much used as a spare monitor these days.

They deleted my review of the unit on their website too.

    • +1

Yea every time I come across someone who deletes negative reviews I look elsewhere
