Medion/aldi are launching another laptop on 18 August. For $569 its not such a bad deal, you also get to upgrade to Windows 8 for $14.99. Only integrated graphics I am afraid. Still, chuck an SSD in there and you have a pretty good machine for anything bar gaming.
Seems a bit pricey for a laptop with no discrete graphics card, or am I missing something? At least compared to those sub-$400 laptops the other day from DSE?

This is one of the first aldi computers that I think is complete crap for what the asking price is. Just because it is at aldi doesn't mean it's a great price. It usually is, but this product isn't. $570 for an i3 with no other features of note (has anyone actually used WiDi?) isn't a very good price. You could find something Alot better if you looked around.
Yeah, I won't neg but any i3 at that price these days is a bit rich….
I bought a Lenovo e520 (i3) back in June for $450. It doesn't have a remote control though…
For some reason Aldi haven't been very competitive in their laptops since Sandybridge was released. Selling i3,i5 at i7 prices. I guess for the average joe it's not a bad deal but certainly falls short for the savvy ozbargainer. Not negging, just saying.

Same model from 4 months ago — more RAM, but less HDD, CPU and battery. That Aldi deal didn't do too well at +3/-5 votes…
For those specs this is about $200 overpriced to be considered a deal. Even the Windows 8 upgrade part of it isn't that fantastic.

SSD is the godsend upgrade, chuck 1 in a pentium 4 and im sure they will fly too
