Trade Price for Computer Supplies?

Hello
Does anyone know if mwave or other provide trade price for computer parts?

Otherwise are there any distributors we can register a company account with?

The usual items like:

Intel cpu, ram, motherboard.

Who are the main distributors in QLD?

Thanks for replies.

  1. Umart does not do trade discounts, already have an account.
  2. MWave checked. They accept business accounts but don't offer discounts unless volume. They are reseller.
  3. JBhifi offer business account discounts and negotiate below retail price on most items.

Contrary to some replies saying it's not possible:
4. Ingram and dickerdata do offer wholesale price and these days actually signup almost anybody even non computer shops.

I hadn't tried them initially but have used them in New Zealand so will check them out. In recent years though some of their prices (NZ) were identical to retail Umart prices.

    • Nice one thanks. Hasn't considered them initially as Ingram New Zealand prices are usually same as Umart Aus retail. Will check if Ingram australia has better prices

  • Trade prices only exist where there is a certified/qualified trade that excludes people who aren't from practicing it. Where that's not the case there simply isn't any reason for people who are in that trade to pay any less than consumers. In fact where its a part or a tool that is sold both to the public and the trade, it usually cost tradies more because trades stores go to the expense and trouble of stocking all the specialist bits and pieces and tools that members of the relevant trade use. That's why tradies do business with trade outlets.

    • Thanks this used to be the case but now days PC distributors will loosely signup almost anyone. Only APPLE is still tight on their supply chain, reseller network. PCs are completely unrestricted now due to the intense competition. This is based on experience. I've had friends who are mechanics signup accounts with Ingram the main distributor in New Zealand. Only difference is you probably won't get the best rate but it's still wholesale.

you might pay more than consumer retail unless you buy a large volume

MSY, go line up with an A4 flyer for an hour and experience the joys of shit tier service combined with rock bottom pricing.

You cannot get distributer pricing unless you buy in volume.

  • Unless you are large quantity buyer your trade/wholesale prices will be very similar to retailer's prices.
