    NSW when…

    • Paint it white/green and stick a Lime logo on the side ;)

      • these grey area laws are the worst, they'll never make them official or outright ban them

        • it's too big an industry to ban it, but politicians are also afraid of sanctioning it due to the perceived risk that may arise from e-scooter injuries.

i think sooner or later it will be legalised in every jurisdiction… i still think it's the cheapest way to get into e-mobility and is a very viable last-mile solution imo.

        • Ah JV you've done it again

It's probably relevant here, people substituting physical activity for these.. it won't help the problem.

@R00D: For me I've replaced aspects of my driving with an escooter. Certainly better for the environment.

              Certainly better for the environment.

              How ?

              • @jv: Scooter is recharged from offgrid power and replaces a car.

                • @Clear: You can do that with your Tesla too…

                  • @jv: I'll need a lot more solar and wayyyy more batteries for the Tesla to charge offgrid. Otherwise grid power consumes coal power imported from Victoria.

                    • @Clear: Sounds like you're just trying to find excuses

                      • @jv: I'm from Sunshine mate. As a Victorian it's my duty to blame everything on Dan.

  • Great scooter, much better than earlier versions. Good price too

    • not much better judging by the specs. still no suspension and no front brakes. but tbf, there's no viable option at around this price point, scooters with these features cost a minimum of 1.5k and above.

  • The body on these has a good place to wack a u-lock right?

    • +1

i've seen people either thread a mini u-lock through the rear wheel spokes or between the front wheel and deck as shown here: https://youtu.be/8vvFnD7JazM?t=48

      • or you could just use a cable tie…

        • yeah but those can be undone without even cutting them

          • @tdw: Only if you're smart enough to work out how…

            • +1

@jv: that's how im able to keep re-using them so i don't have to buy as many, or have to spend a bit more on the ones marketed as reusable

              • @tdw:

                keep re-using them

I bet that's how you saved up enough to buy an e-scooter…

                • @jv: nah, i don't have one yet. i've already got an e-bike i hardly use
