Fly with the only domestic airline operating to and from the Gold Coast which includes a meal and baggage allowance for all passengers, in every class, on every flight.

the term "meal" is probably fairly subjective.

      • Well if it's during Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner it's a 'meal'. Any other time it's snack. People don't normally eat 'meals' outside these times. It's still better than flying with anyone else.

But it's a shame QF seems to only offer all their destinations via SYD.

I meant Qantas' definition of a meal on domestic flights. Sydney to Melbourne flights usually only have a bag of cookie and a bottle of juice. I think it was slightly better with a pie when I flew from Brisbane to Melbourne a couple years back. So does this fit your definition of a "meal"?

(Although Sydney to Perth was an actual "meal")

        • When was the last time you flew domestic?

Soup is a meal - Bania

        • Was it a cup or a bowl?

        • Did he crumble any crackers in it?

      • I agree garrett getting chucked a muffin & an apple doesn't constitute a meal.
But it's great to have them back, as they're resurrecting the QC @ Coolie - yeah!
I wonder how many Jetstar flights they'll be replacing them with Qantas.
I suspect they'll be flying around the same time as Tiger, so Jetstar no longer have to price beat…

Who the hell needs a meal on a 1-2 hour flight? Heck I flew to Japan without a meal just fine. Qantas really seems to be stuck in the past. Don't complain that your company isn't profitable.

Thats pretty typical for all airlines these days, and there is always BPAY.

FYI, also available the other way round. i.e. Gold Coast - Sydney = $48

  • Qantas doesn't fly from Melbourne to Gold coast but Jetstar does, redirects to Jetstar on this route which is cheaper than $88 on some flights anyway.

    • Qantas is now starting to fly to the Gold Coast

      • via Sydney.

  • Melbourne flights seem to be via Sydney with long waits at some times.

  • 5 hours + to get to gc from adelaide as all flights go via melbourne or sydney and no cheaper than jetstar normal prices and there direct! !

  • damn canberra-melbourne sold out :/

I know how supply and demand works but I don't see how it should cost twice as much to fly from Canberra to Gold Coast as it does from Sydney to Gold coast, the distance difference is 20 minutes in the air.

I suppose I shouldn't complain, at least they ARE doing direct flights.

(oh wait, Canberra to Gold Coast is via Sydney? ugh, back to Virgin)

You obviously don't understand how supply and demand works…

  • wait howd you find this? an email or is this when they do their sales normally?

    • Qantas email went out this afternoon to people on their mailing list.

    • i found this on their facebook page

    • aww lame i didnt get an email

      • Just got the email sent out to me now dammit. Is,it because I havent flown with them ever

You need to select a travel date between 28 October 2012 and 1 August 2013

  • Ermm… Don't know if you can, but can we price beat with Jetstar? LOL
Just not sure because Jetstar is under Qantas :S

    • for christ sake, is it really worth the saving of $4.80 to fly Shitstar?

      • +1

        For a direct flight- yes

      • You are on the wrong forum…..if you are asking that question…..

    • My understanding is Jetstar only price beats like for like. i.e. it has to be a direct flight
