That's a big ask for under $1000- any requirements on screen size? Are the indented items optional?

    • I can go over 1000 bucks. Any screen size will be okay

What are you studying? High powered CPU with great battery life is pretty much non-existent if you're actually using that processing power, my workstation laptop from work is a gun of a machine but 3 hours of high CPU usage and that battery is running on fumes.

  • Not very high powered CPU. I mean but faster

    • Faster… how? And that's what I meant by a high powered CPU, if you want a fast CPU it will use more power (unless you get a macbook air, which I'd actually recommend if all you're going to do is write essays in Word).

      ChatGPT

    • The latest 11th gen cpu, isn’t there now 13th gen available now?

Written by ChatGPT which is not fully up to date.

        • In my opinion, the improvement between the 11th generation and 13th generation isn't significant.

          • @Wiadro: Maybe,I don’t know. But it definitely not the latest.

Those requirements and any answers make absolutely no sense without some context. That's like saying you need a car that has great fuel economy, goes real fast, looks good and has the latest tech. You could be a 20 year old male hoon or a family of 4.

What study- high school, university? If university, what kind of courses? e.g. an architectural student vs comp sci vs graphic design vs law will have very different requirements.

What screen size? What will you be running on it? e.g. a dozen VMs to run network simulations will require a tiny bit more RAM than Microsoft Word.

Get a macbook air and be done

    • +1 for Macbook Air 2020 with M1. I'm using one for uni and it can last all day without charging - beats any Intel based laptop in a similar price range. More than capable of running Chrome (multiple tabs) and MS office.

MacOS can have a learning curve if coming from Windows, but works great otherwise.

Pretty sure Office 365 is free as long as you have a .edu email, so shouldn't be an issue whether it is packaged or not.
