Costco are clearing this TV. Next best price I could find at this moment is $1760 at Appliance Central.

I think this is the correct review for the TV on rtings.com. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Hisense U8HAU 2022 4K Mini-LED for the masses (TV review)

They gave it 7.9 (out of 10).

PROS
  • Reasonable value for an entry-level Mini-LED
  • Two HDMI 2.1 4K@100Hz (50Hz Australian power)
  • Everything Joe and Jane Average needs except some popular streaming apps
CONS
  • Out-of-the-box colours are off – default settings are not ideal
  • Poor viewing angles 120° at best
  • Some obvious clouding/blooming
  • Average black levels (accounting for lower contrast ratio)
Poor sound (but that is all you can expect at this price)

If history is anything to go buy, models between AUS & US reviewed units on rtings are of lesser quality.

    • Ok. I'll see if I can find a specifc one for the AU model.

Please note that rtings review that you have posted is not applicable to this TV since the US and AU models are different despite the same name. This TV is significantly worse from what I've done read on AU forums.

I changed the review. They actually say the same thing at the start of their review.

The problem with these rating sites is they're made for nerds, not the average joe-blow.

    • I'm a bit behind with all the tech. We're still using a 55" HD TV so I'll have to do some reading before we get our next TV. It is a little daunting, not really looking forward to having to decide on which TV to get.

      • Walk into JB and have a look. If you're always watching streamed/bluray action movies, nature docos sure the OLED are stunning. But if you're like me & watch sitcoms, dramas , news and the occasional bit of sport, then accurate colours, rich blacks, etc don't really matter.

I aee is as why buy a Ferrari just to drive to the shops.

        • Rtings model is not the Same Tv as the AUS model as mentioned on numerous occasions.

  • Good description, too many people get confused regarding Hisense in Australia.

  • Why do we get lower spec TVs in Australia with the same model numbers… Beyond frustrating.
