Best Mobile Phone That Is Responsive with Decent Battery Life

Hi All, I use a Moto e7 Power (Motorola) Phone as my daily driver. It has 5000mAH battery, which is fantastic and goes all day long and into the next day BUT unfortunately it's very laggy and takes a very long time to load apps.

When I see people using a phone which is responsive and actually multitasks, I feel a bit envious.

Bearing in mind that this is a $150 Officeworks phone, are there any viable alternatives up to $4-500 that would be more responsive but still have decent battery life? (I realize this is a trade-off but I think I would be happy with a 5000mAH battery in a more responsive phone.)

The only other major issue I have with the Moto is that the GPS and 4G seem weak at picking up signals, I depend on the 4G Hotspot in some places where coverage isn't that great and I don't think it's performing as well as it should.

Apps don't seem to run particularly well, multi-tasking is practically non-existent, no doubt to save battery life, and a lot of apps don't cope terribly well with switching to another app and back again.

New iPhones. Newest iPhone SE if you don't mind a small screen and are on a budget. You sound like you realised life is too short for shit phones. You don't need to manually kill apps on iPhone, not most apps anyway. Killing apps actually uses more battery life because iOS already freezes and kills apps when needed, meaning the apps you unnecessarily kill need to be load again consuming a lot of energy.

    • I am using an iPhone 7 since the first day it released and I have yet to kill a single app manually.

iOS just does some magic automatically whenever I change apps or stop using one for an extended period of time.

      android manages apps too.

      • It does, but poorly

I never close down apps manually. And I don't have lag. That's not done poorly IMO. But yes not every android phone is the same.

@iamherenow: Ha ha. I was trying to elicit a reaction, that's all matey.

My work phone is a Samsung something and it's a real pain, but I realised after half a year of using it that the main culprit was the g-dang Screen Protector!

    • New iPhone SE has notoriously horrible battery life, its probably the main downside of that phone

Samsung Galaxy A34 should be fine for your use case. According to gsmarena reviews, battery life seems strong. Processor definitely should be more than adequate since you've had the patience to use that moto. RRP is $599. On sale everywhere for around $550. Use the code HGMAY on bing lee ebay to save an extra $50 making it $497. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/166002236785? Should be fine multi tasking and switching paired with the 120hz screen as the processor is more than enough unless you absolutely push your phone to the max all the time, which is not the vast majority of people

Not all cheap phones are crap. My poco goes 2 days with lots of use no problems. Very snappy. Cost me $250 off aliexpress. My favourite feature is not having to worry about dropping it, because it's cheap enough to replace.

    • wait till it gets bricked like mine.
super common problem. i would reconsider.

  • I got the Motorola G82, its been a great phone for the ~6 months I have had it. Goes on promo for $350 occasionally. $300 rarely. I use it as a 4/5g hotspot too & it has done relatively well.
