Screen Door Digital Smart Lock

Hi All,

I've been hoping for a digital smart lock for my screen door to accompany the one fitted to my main door and until recently I haven't found any available.
A recent search has come up with 2 options and they're listed below, I'm wondering if anyone here has fitted either of these and how has your experience been.

I'd like the option of keyless with number pad as we often leave the house for short walks etc and tend not to bring our keys.
I have a crimsafe screen door with 3 point locking and a whitco barrel if that makes a difference, Just want to make sure these fit and would work.

My thoughts are that I like the yale because the batteries are installed on the inside with no external access when locked, but no built in keypad (which we would use a lot), there's an optional keypad which I believe also requires a bridge, but then if your wifi goes down, power cut etc then I think it won't communicate with the lock and be useless if I'm out without keys/fob.

The Ultra Secua has the in built keypad but has everything housed on the outside, with a battery cover and triangle security screw to keep the cover 'locked' in place, and I can't find much in terms of reviews on the unit, it says it supports 3 pin locking but I'm not sure if anything extra such as the 3 point locking bar is required extra or will fit my current one. I have emailed them but as of yet recieved no reply.

    • Maybe the OP's screen door is in front of his front door and he wants to lock and unlock both doors without any keys.

Maybe you should swap notes with this fella: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/772679

    • Thanks, I think we're both after the same information but can keep each other in the loop, or see who bites the bullet first!

I hardly lock my screen door 😬

  • The Yale Connect Plus Bridge will connect upto 16 devices.
The lock should also work with bluetooth if wifi goes down.
I have the yale unity entrance lock quite similar to this.

  • Yale Unity security door lock connects with keypad by bluetooth so if wifi is down, you still can get in. Unless its battery is out. But the keypad can be taken off easily, $100 gone.

I prefer Ultra Secua with built-in keypad, no wiring required

    • What are your thoughts on the battery enclosure being on the outside? I know it has the triangle screw but that's not exactly difficult to open.
I've read user complaints that mention the Yale unity security door lock has not great plastic components inside that wear/break easily, that put me off.
