Non touch and non flip. These may be features that people are specifically looking for. It's not all about specs.
Edit: beaten by comment below. Didn't realise it was addressing the first comment since it was on its own comment chain so I didn't even read it.

your call but as a comparison

    non flip vs flip
    2.8K 120Hz OLED vs 4K 60Hz OLED
    i5 vs i7
    512GB SSD vs 1TB SSD
you will get local wty however.

I would suggest searching for this 14X on amazon.com (not .au) or ebay.com (not .au) and seeing if you can get a better deal. Asus in particular has always been much cheaper in USA.

If we can get the i7 flagship on clearance, you should be able to get a midrange i5 on clearance in that 1K AUD range

Also if your after some gaming?, intel with integrated vid is pretty bad. The Ryzen Asus ones are much better. Check this Vivobook 14X that he takes to 24GB ram and runs game trials on.

good luck in your hunt and may the ASUS be with you -lol

You forget non touch vs touch

Generally speaking, if the laptop is flippable, it's got a touch screen.

  • I had flippable computer past 5 years. Have never used the flip function.

    • We needed the flip for use with the included touch pen to draw stuff on the screen like you would with a tablet. Agree its an edge use case

      • agreed - I’m not usually in a situation where I only need to draw or write: the thickness makes it impractical to do two-handed typing while you’re holding it, unless you’re just typing two or three words. Using it as a graphics tablet away from an external monitor, keyboard and mouse is also impractical, as the USB-C cables can be bulky (pro-tip: buy a long, flexible cable with a right angle connector).

Convertibles do save some desk space when on a laptop stand though.

I find that IPad Pro and Surface Pros to be much more suitable for ‘in the field’ and ‘on the lap’ note taking.

  • Iris graphics ?
