Seems expensive, am I missing something that is special about this one?

Plus every so often they give purchasers a free housewarming gift

Yea suree, let's keep rehashing the same argument.

Just fyi - Anker as a brand is no better than Zyron.

        • +5

Zyron is not really a brand, rather an ABN holder who OEMs chargers from other suppliers.

          Anker design their own stuff.

    • The zyron is an excellent product and a bargain under $40

  • I'm a fan of Anker products, never really had any issues with prior purchases. But RRP$100 for this charger? Tell'em they're dreamin.

  • Wowowee! That is one really expensive charger. Sheesh.

I'd settle for HEYMIX anytime. 👍

    • I have a feeling you like hot sauce too

Anker is a much better & reliable brand compared to these newer brands that pop-up every year offering enticing deals on similar stuff for a lot less. I fell for that as well & got Heymix products but then I saw a post where they mentioned Heymix product they tested was not only missing advertised components but also wasn’t safe to use. Now, even though it maybe against the spirit of ozbargain, I personally choose to pay a bit more for peace of mind over small savings.

    • Here is the review of Heymix charger:

You are free to buy them still but please do not neg people who would prefer to pay a bit more for better & safer products.

That's the powerboard, and honestly it's just anecdotal. I messaged that person directly asking how I could verify the same design flaw in my powerboard since I own one but no reply. I've had it for a year and a bit and although I could still return it through Amazon claiming I'm concerned it's a hazard, it's been working pretty great and I haven't had any issues. But then again, my experience is also anecdotal so who can really say.

          Most users don't check DMs.

The issue they mentioned is also confirmed in other reviews including pictures. A power outlet tester should be enough to confirm the swapped active/neutral and the safest thing you can confirm easily.

@ihfree: Interesting, I thought DM's would create a notification badge similar to replies. Good call on using a tester, I initially DM'd them on how to open it non destructively but that's a quicker and better method. Doing a continuity test shows that my powerboard indeed has the same polarity issue, disappointing. At least I get to buy another powerboard now lol.

That's a good point. I remember having to tweak settings and finding one or two very old DMs that I hadn't noticed.

  • got this for $65 ish before Christmas. Good product but idk bout the inflation..

  • It'd be a bargain if came with travel plug options or at least figure 8 cable.

Also Belkin for $69.95 delivered, just doesn't have the A port.

    • +1

This belkin charger is $40 on TGG commercial but the reviews on Amazon for the white version show poor quality control.

Can the reviews be trusted? Who knows.

  • Can you swap out the plug/connector?

Currently have the Heymix which has lasted me 2 years, but reading on all the comments from other users, it seems to be a fire hazard which I wasn't aware of. I liked the Heymix since it's connector could be swapped out when travelling.
