What Are You Getting Your Mother / Baby Mumma for Mother's Day?

As per the headline, What Are You Getting Your Mother / Baby Mumma for Mother's Day?

I have bought my wife a mattress for her daybed and a couple of books from the kids. I am however in desperate need of brownie points before I leave her with the kids for 2 weeks while I go to my friends wedding overseas…

Need some good ideas. What are you folks getting the Mums in your life?

Update:
Thanks for the ideas so far team.

Agree mattress isn't the best, hence I need the help!

In my defense, it is a family heirloom that her father has reconditioned and it has been sitting on our deck for 4 years unusable because she couldn't find a mattress. Now she has one.

Buuutt, I still need the extra brownie points. So keep the ideas coming! :)

This is part of Mother's Day deals for 2023.

      • Yeah bro cant go wrong with Le Creuset , good instagram appeal

I'm on catering duty so will make sure I include a creampie

some women I know would take offence to this, seeing it as a sign they're getting old

bloody hell, and you bought her a daybed mattress? Bold move.

Seems the kind of thing you should probably put some thought into what she really wants, rather than just ask the internet. Besides, no way I'm spending as much this mothers day as you should be.

Agree somewhat about the mattress - hence asking for more ideas. Got a few good ones from here, asking the internet is a great idea.

The same thing she wants every year: Chanel skincare

    • Are you able to get deals on Chanel skincare products?

      • No?

        • ;(

I might treat myself with a bottle of LE VERNIS

    • I agree. Anything at the Chanel counter or the Chanel boutique is a winner.
Hints were given and yet I somehow got a foot massager.

You sure you didn't get this for yourself to sleep on when you're back from 2 weeks of debauchery?

I have breakfast with my Mum every Saturday. She has access to my booze stash and my Prime account. She's happy.
MIL will get flowers. Unfortunately she has dementia. Ive learnt buying clothes or other things is not helpful 😒

  • Some nice tea!

Why do I get the feeling most adults' mothers would love nothing more than time with their kids, and many younger mothers would love nothing more than a little time away from their kids

    • Agreed!

    • Drop the kids off with grandma and you're all set for both gifts.

      • ….and then continue to celebrate Mother's Day on a weekly basis :)

        • …the gift that keeps on giving.

I commissioned my mum some artwork from an Indigenous artist- hoping to keep my status as the golden child!

A voucher for a beauty service- nails, spa, massage- is always nice. Or start her off a Pandora bracelet with a charm that represents each of her kids. (This also handily solves future gifting issues, as you can just keep adding on new charms!)

Whatever you do, do NOT buy household appliances or goods (like a mattress!) under the guise of a ‘gift’… or you’d better pick yourself up a doghouse while you’re out because it will be your new home!

If this doesn't guarantee your Golden Platinum Child status for 2 lifetimes, it's possible you've stuffed up and set expectations too high.

I suggest giving her a kettle next year. And I don't mean a fancy temperature control one either.

    • Nails I think she will like, cheers.

    Nothing.

    Same as last year.

    She's still dead.

    • sorry for your loss

Always a nice dinner with the family.

btw…. Is it just me or does anyone else hate the term "baby mumma"? I'm a dude so I would never get called that (and I just wouldn't refer to someone as that), but it seems to sound so feral when I hear other people say it..

Just another sign of people spending/wasting their time on InstaFaceTok.

A nice bottle of gin, perfume etc

    • How do you pick a good perfume?

I'm a mum to two little kids and they're getting me an Oodie. I'm pretty excited for it

  • 3 gifts

Something for Mum - Book an Endota spa day for her - any package, any day/ time she chooses.
Something for Mum + Daughter - Dad will give them both a Mani Pedi and a lunch date.
Something for the 3 of us - Taking us out to Ramen Mother's Day night.

Covering all my bases. As much as my wife enjoys her downtime, like any parent would, she loves hanging out with us the most.

  • Sorry im no help im too cheap and practical. Load of firewood i cut and spilt for my mum (though i bring her other loads through the year) she has everything she needs and hates useless items and made it quite clear not to get her anything.

My wife wanted me to get our 2 boys to fix up 2 old bench seats for her and $10 worth of scratchies that the boys went with me to get.

From day one in our relationship i made it clear i wasnt big on these special days.

Treat your partner with respect all year road surprise them out of the blue during the year.

Wife doesnt ask for useless presents though she got a Audi tt roadster i bought to flip. Not a practical car at all really but something she wanted keep the missus happy.
