Is paying with gift cards eligible?

    • +1

      Cashback is eligible for:

Purchases of products in an eligible category paid with gift cards.

      Yep

      • So if I added gift cards to the account when I got them, does this count as gift card or credit?

It confuses me because if I add the gc when I get it is that then credit (so would I need to not use the gc until purchase and add the card at checkout? Hope that made sense.

        Cheers

Got excited by 10% cashback for games then realised it's not video games :/

    • +3

Same here. I was about to cancel all my amiibo and TotK pre-orders and re-order them, but too much of a hassle for 0.8% cashback.

      • +2

but too much of a hassle for 0.8% cashback.

Please hand in your Ozbargain licence.

So LEGO we get 10% back?

    • All I want to know

    • Yes, the base category of Lego is Toys & Games

  • How's the Lego delivery recently? Would like to buy Lego as a gift but not sure if I want to risk the Lego box being dented when Amazon packs in a plastic bag.

    • +2

No issues with Lego I got recently. In fact I don't think anything from Amazon Australia had been dented for me. However Australia Post is another story.

      • Surely that's more to do with the packaging applied by the seller, than the AP delivery? I doubt Amazon delivery is any less brutal than every other delivery infrastructure. Who'd you buy LEGO off that came dented?

    • I bought some recently. Came boxed the next day with no issues :)

Just bought the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max at 40% off plus cashback

    • Me too, been holding off for a cashback deal.

    • I have google TV. How does compare to that?
I have 2nd TV, should I get it instead of Google tv?

      • +1

I've got a google TV and recently bought another for $69. People like both, those just Google the comparison as they are pretty similar. I haven't opened the second one but was going to troubleshoot some specific intermittent minor issues (but could be the soundbar or HDMI cable).

Are you happy with the Google TV? I'd be tempted to try out the firestick for $59 (40% off) plus 20% cashback (should be about $44?).

I don't have any other Alexa device so kind of easier keeping to Google to mix with my other (nest/home) devices, voice commands to turn on/off living room TV and remote using phone etc.

Firestick is USB micro not USB C powered. Had a look at the description, no tick for 'hands free with Alexa', but can use the firestick TV app from phone which may pick up voice commands, not sure if it would work hands free like Google.

No kayo app support. You can try side loading but seems like a hassle. Fwiw I sideload a few things on google TV (HBO max), and Nord VPN works well in the background too.

If it's not for smart home integration and just to smarten up a not so smart tv and use independently it's probably good for the price.

        • +1

Bought Chromecast 4K last week and connected it to my 2006 Sony Bravia TV (second TV) which cannot be connected to internet.
And guess what it made this non-smart TV to a smart TV. All apps (including Kayo) in the Chromecast have much faster response when compared to my main TV which is LG 75"smart TV. You can also control the TV volume from the Chromecast remote itself and when you switch off the Chromecast, it switches off the TV as well. But when you turn on the Chromecast it does not turn ON the TV.
I read Chromecast 4K has better ram or cpu than HD. So it was totally worth spending 20 bucks more for the 4K version. And yes I have an Android phone which does make it a good choice over Fire TV

          • +1

@Sunillinus20: Easy decision and that's the whole point of the device - works great.
Just check the ARC and remote settings - it should turn on/off the tv as well. I've got mine plugged directly into a Q950A soundbar and can power everything on/off, volume etc. Great way to get dolby atmos as well as my EKO 4k doesn't have that or eARC and the interface was a pita.

Ps. look into this for live tv channel streaming:
            https://www.matthuisman.nz/2019/01/live-au-iptv-channels-on-…
(note that sporting events aren't shown due to licensing but use this instead of the TV's tuner 95% of the time).

        • I don't have any Alexa but I've not gotten the firestick to work with the phone fire app. While I prefer the performance of the firestick, overall I pick my google TV as I can control it from anywhere. And the virtual remote app is heaps better. I can't get my firestick to turn off the TV or adjust volume.

          • @MeesusEff: Yeah mate just as I suspected.
The Google TV app and remote control work great, can also do voice commands to phone or any other Google nest device to control the Google TV. Handy sometimes to say turn on off pause.. play this and that etc.

            Easier than mixing and matching..
But if people don't care about all that and want a standalone media streamer it would be fine hey .

            • @G-rig: Yes, I took my parents gtv Chromecast and gave them the firestick instead since they never use 'hey google', shame the cc doesn't have more RAM, but I'm happy with it enough to not need to upgrade to a Shield

      • Fire Sticks don't work with Roon, whereas Google TV does and has better SQ than air drop. Other than that, thiey're about the same experience, although I prefer the Alexa eco system. On the FireSticks I've loaded Kodi, not sure how this works with G TV.
If not for Roon I would go Firestick.

        • +1

I prefer kodi on firestick, gtv seems to get a big slow

  • is this capped per member or per transaction? ie can I do repeat transactions to obtain 20% off?

    • Per member.

Is Ring Video Doorbell considered as Amazon devices - Ring Smart Security with 20% cashback capped at $30?

  • +1

Over the last 3 weeks I had 2 individual items returned back to the Amazon sellers as "undeliverable" with both fully refunded. I contacted Amazon but the CS couldn't tell me why and only said that it could have been damaged packaging. This never happened to me before and I found it weird this had happened twice in a row. Does anyone know why?

    • I waited for two months for some PC fans to arrive, but they disappeared without any tracking information. Although I got a refund, I still wasted two months waiting.

    • Same. Ordered a HDD that arrived in Oz only to be cancelled on delivery date as "damaged packaging".

  • How about a solar panel and battery?

Prime Day is around the corner. Amazon devices might be the same price or cheaper without having to deal with cash back BS.

Don't have time to post this deal … But seems like a good one. https://www.amazon.com.au/1MORE-ComfoBuds2-Bluetooth-Headpho…

  • How do I work out if something falls under shoes or apparel?

  • +1

Can’t really see too many good Lego deals.

  • Says cashback is ineligible for “Purchases of products in any cashback category with a cashback rate of 0%. Check the cashback categories table prior to purchase.”

    • +3

Good thing the 0% categories are now 0.8% isn't it? 🤔

  • +7

Based on previous experiences on Amazon cashback not tracking with CR (ie all of them) I’m giving this a wide berth

    • It's a gamble on Amazon cashback purchase, better buying Amazon GC with bonus cashback.

    • Edited to add: it did track! Just received the email right now. For some reason it was just slower than the next purchase. Sorry for my hasty assumption!
I bought a Kindle (the 20% cashback was the deciding factor) and it didn't track (I assume, as no email but did get the email for finding bought afterwards).
Bought a bag of cat food 10 minutes after and it tracked as I have the email already.
      So disappointed 😥

Nice toys is getting 10% but went through Lego and Hot Wheels and no bargains are there.
Maybe flip a coin on this one : https://www.amazon.com.au/Centrepiece-10314-Building-Display…

  • Ordered a Kindle the other day would it be worth buying a new one to return for that other or do they record serials?

  • -2

A few crumbs on the ground (0.8%) won't make a difference for me. At least match the SB giftcard deal (4%).

    • Completely different offers. You can now use your discounted gift cards on categories that were 0% 😉

      • 80 cents on $100. People will be shouting from the rooftops to celebrate their crumbs!

        • +2

I'll use my discounted gift cards with the $5 off $50 on these usually 0% categories for a little bit extra. If you don't want the 0.8% then I suggest buying tomorrow so you get 0%.

  • I always wonder if cashback is available on Amazon US products sold though Amazon AU website?

    • Ive bought a Qudelix 5k through Amazon AU (from Amazon US) and it got approved. That was january 2023

Bought the $1 echo 5 charger dock, maybe needs an echo 5 XD

  • SoundCore included then?

  • Fire TV Cube here we come!

  • That would be right, ordered $100 worth of pet supplies yesterday.

    • Stock up unless it's the last time you're going to be buying them ever.

  • Can somebody tell if these are good deals at 20% cashback?

Ring Video Doorbell 4 – improved 4-second colour video previews plus easy installation, and enhanced wifi, ~$226 after cashback (without cashback: $249.00, -24% RRP: $329.00)
Ring Video Doorbell 3 – enhanced wifi, improved motion detection, easy installation ~$181 (without cashback $199.00, -33% RRP: $299.00)

    • You need subscription if I recall?

      • Thanks, I've just checked and it seems you kinda don't need the subscription if you don't need it to be useful…

Ring devices don't require a Ring Protect subscription plan. Without a subscription, you can view real-time video for Ring Video Doorbells and Security Cameras and respond to alerts when they happen. However, without a Ring Protect plan, you will not be able to access video recordings of events.

By the way, here's Amazon Devices category.

There are a couple of brands, eg. TPLink or Philips Hue, that are not Amazon's, so I wonder if they're getting 20% cashback…

  • @Clear does this stack with the targeted cashrewards offer of spend $10 get $15 bonus ?

    • Yep

      • Nice! Would it stack with that, as well as the $5 bonus on $50?

  • How are people finding the cash back tracking? Ordered about 30 mins ago and haven't received confirmation of tracking yet.

    • +1

Amazon tracking takes a day and a half.

      • Thanks, good to know!

    • Still waiting, bought at 1am this morning

  • +1

Everyone remember to record your phone/computer screen while purchasing, so you have some leverage talking to the customer service if it doesn't track.

    • You can just go to CR click history to claim

  • Thanks all. Been holding off to buy Amazon Echo Show 8 for a while. At $149 and 20% discount, I'm getting $29.8 cashback which is great deal!

    didn't track?

    • Takes a day.

    • No, it did!

  • Sigh i bought something yesterday now 20% cb (and bonus)?! Tried cancelling but it didn't go through. How are amazon returns, are change of mind returns easy to do for amazon au fulfilled orders? Will it be suss if it appears I've bought the same product twice lol

  • Are nappies eligible for any cashback? Cashrewards category "Baby Products" excludes nappies so assume not?

  • Sweet, saved another $5 off my Diablo 4 preorder

@RainbowChad: Nice, Tears of the kingdom is a great choice. Brought back all those nostalgic memories from when I got the switch on launch.

  • When it says Amazon shoes and bags, is it any item that Amazon sells under shoes and bags category or only Amazon branded/specific shoes and bags?

  • I dont think i've ever had an Amazon purchase track correctly and receive the cashback lol

  • Hi @Clear,

I'm eyeing a tomtoc sling bag:
    https://www.amazon.com.au/tomtoc-Crossbody-Shoulder-Backpack…

Would you be able to tell me if it belongs to the 'Shoes, Handbags and Accessories' category?

    Thanking you in advance :)

    • Desktop site would tell you what category it's in

      • Thanks for that. That explains why I wasn't able to see XD

  • If only there was no cap

  • ROCKPORT Men's Storm Surge Waterproof Sneaker
    https://www.amazon.com.au/ROCKPORT-Storm-Surge-Plain-Toe/dp/…

  • Purchase has tracked!

  • I did not get the 20% cashback on the bellroy lite sling mini I bought. So I guess Amazon do not consider it a bag. I will definitely return the bag.

    • I did not get the 20% cashback on the bellroy lite sling mini I bought

You mean didn't track? It may need sometime

      • It tracked at a lower amount of less than $1. Price of the bag is $119.

  • I bought x3 shoes, in separate transactions. But only one transaction (the first one) tracked. Did anyone have a similar experience?

  • I bought shoes during the 20% cashback period however out of a $106.15 purchase CR is only saying I'm pending a $0.85 cashback.

    • Same happened to me for the bag I bought for $119, tracked at 0.95.

  • My biggest transaction didn't track 7800x3d from Amazon us via Amazon au

  • I purchased a shoe but its not been tracked though $5 bonus is added.
