  • Aliexpress codes, won't that void shopback cashback?

    • +1

No. You're only going to get 1.5% with Shopback for this so use Cashrewards for 4.5%.

  • Nabbed one, thanks OP. Fingers crossed it isnt a dud.

    • Mine arrived today, Australian style plug with usb cable, screen protecter applied. Currently being set up. Seems reasonably fast and the screen doesn't seem bad at all.

      • did you manage to update the security updates beyond march 5 2023?

Thanks Clear - been waiting for a decent cheap 8" tablet - just got one.

  • 10w charging only :(

  • +1

Great to see a 8" tablet - shame about the 64GB though.

Cheers Clear, grabbed one. $91.08 us which came to $134.75 with Amex (didn’t get the case as usually I buy separate or I’ll recycle one of universal ones).
I already have an Iplay 50 (paid about the same at launch) and it’s been excellent (albeit 6gb ram).

  • Thanks Cleart. I have been meaning to get a new mini tablet since my current one (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/379941) stop allow me to use Vanced cos stuck on android 6. this looks like a decent upgrade

    • That tablet is really going back. I still have the Tab4 4GB/64GB version somewhere that got far too old.

      • Yea im simple. just for watching youtube and occasional game. If Netflix is not shown in HD, can it still be played? and what if so what format?

Also noticed it Says Estimated delivery on May 29. You think that is accurate? cos adr8 deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/774036) says Estimated Delivery on Jun 5th-13th,2023

        Thanks

Hmm, are there any other 8” android tablets that pack a little more grunt than this?

    • +1

Not from what I can see. Lenovo Legion Y700 at around $500 packs the most punch.

      • Have one .. must agree very goood!

  • Thanks Clear, ordered one

  • Omg… Its only got a Single speaker!

    And coming from a iplay 40H with a T618… This seems like a downgrade…

If only they brought out an iplay 50 Pro Mini… That would be perfect

  • Can use it for calls?

  • Built in 4G modem with VoLTE and band 28 for Australia. No problem calling, just a little big to hold in one hand. Use a 3.5mm headset for convenience.

AliExpress add the GST at checkout. With AU18 store coupon and AU12 AliExpress deal, around AU144 delivered.

    • thanks.
it shows US $98.99 to me at checkout.

  • Code not working?

    • +1

      Use YN7R1PO52QLZ instead

      • Thanks clear, that worked!
Just got one to use as my HA Dashboard on the wall as my Tab a 7 is super unresponsive now.

      • Code already claimed?

I'm not an avid game player, and wanted to check this with those that are: isn't 8" better than 10" to play games for an avg sized adult or youngster? I got the 10" Lenovo from ALDI (for $99), and the few times I tried playing anything, felt cumbersome (compared to the iPad mini we've used for — mostly — that purpose).

Hi guys, I received the tablet today (using to type this). It's a mini version of alldocube iplay50. Very cute and seems well made. This is 2 ram less than the iplay50, not sure how it will perform. But so far looks are very good. Comes with Australian plug charger with two USB ports. Screen protector it's already on.

just got mine too perfect for tachiyomi and for my next travel device.

  • Got mine today.
But there's no screen protector included.
Anyone has a suggestion which one to get, please?

    • Are you sure yours doesn't have one? Mine came with the screen protector already installed. The sheet with the logo is actually the "second" side of the protector; peel it off and the protector is underneath. You can see it is there at the camera.

  • Strange how some come with a screen protector and some dont.

So how is the build quality?
Is the body made plastic or alloy ? (coz the pics suggests its alloy)

And is it laggy or buggy ?

    • Mine came with the screen protector pre-installed.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Build quality, its not Apple/Samsung level, but still pretty damn good for the price!
And can confirm the body is definitely Alloy, not plastic. No idea why they dont mention this as a selling point.
Its noticeably more laggy compared to T618 powered devices, though only slightly.
      The screen is really nice.
The single speaker unfortunately sounds pretty crap.
And the rear camera takes rather muddy pics, but I have no use for it anyway.
Overall, Im pretty happy with it so far.

  • Just thought I'd leave a review for future reference.
    - Tablet feels worth the price, and by that I mean 'really good value'.
    - Feels light, which can be a pro/con. My guess is that the battery is going to be failing early given that a quality one usually adds to the weight.
    - Free of pre-installed software bloat. I'm still a bit sceptical about what exactly is installed on this (system apps) given it is Chinese - I'm still investigating.
    - No Netflix HD (I knew this) but it is only 8 inches - SD is fine for use when travelling etc. If you download shows for offline usage, they'll use less space anyway.
    - I bought these for two kids (6 and 8, previously they had MiPad4s) I think it is a good match for their use cases of movies, music, chat and simple games.
    - A little trick with these low powered tablets - Turn on Developer Options and turn off all three "Window Animation" settings. (Window animation scale
Transition animation scale, Animator duration scale). Sluggishness is perceived from these jittery CPU/GPU intensive 'smooth' transitions. If you turn them off from the beginning, you won't care what you're missing, and it will feel a hell of a lot more 'snappy' in most (but not all) cases.
    - Comes with a pre-applied screen protector.

    • Thanks - just curious why you needed to move off the MiPad4?

      • +1

Ah, quite the story. So I am looking for a tablet for Home Assistant wall mounting. The MiPad4(s) were actually quite good, and still in good shape - so I was looking to use them for that purpose if I could bypass the battery and run them without it, as a preference.

So, with that in mind I attempted to carefully teardown one of the two MiPad4 but I couldn't find a way I liked to bypass the battery so as I was reassembling it to give back to the kids there was an unexpected pop as I must have shorted out a capacitor and it died.

Anyway, AllDoCube was my backup plan :) bought two for the kids and I'll keep the other working MiPad4 for Home Assistant
