        Works fine so far with a Telstra SIM. But yes band support is very limited.

        I wouldn't rely on it for any life and death situation at all.

        How can you say hotspot is better then Bulli in cellular?

        I running iPad cellular off the cheap Vodafone sim without a single issue and quick no updates running over hotspot chewing up data either

          That's where the stock is located and is irrelevant. The product page says it has GPlay and when this was posted it previously no one reported it missing GPlay.

          LED is bright but you can turn it off.

          WiFi seems fine at my house. No issues with drop outs etc.

          One issue is sometimes depending on the App it can take a VERY VERY long time to install.

          Notification is fine personally.

          WiFi is dodgy on my WPA-EAP connection. I go through phases of constant drop-outs or long requests and perfectly fine. Actual speed when it's working is fine.

          Play Store is a PITA on this tablet. Not sure why but if you start an update and it just stops, close Play Store from Recent Apps then reopen it to work around this issue.

      Sure. 8" is a little small for a tablet, but it would play videos and most mobile games just fine.

      I have this one as well as 10" surface. This 8" screen is unfortunately too small and not comfortable for watching movies, it needs to be too close to your eyes, like 40 cm or thereabout and it is just not comfy. 10 inch is where it is comfortable and enjoyable watching movies. However I still travel with this 8" lenovo since it gives me superior screen when I do my travel research or just read the news, emails etc (or need to type) compare to a phone. I used to have 6 inch phone and again the 8 inch tablet beats it to dust with comfort, however nobody wants to carry 8 inch around… and I even dont want to carry my 10 inch surface :)

    One suggestion for those with the tablet or are looking to get one.

    Install Lux on it… the auto brightness controls on it are useless. It defaults too bright in darkness and not enough brightness when in daylight.

      Might be worth checking what you can get the Huawei Mediapad M3 or M5 for. Those are pretty great. Also the Xiaomi Mipad 2 or 3 are pretty good too.

      They do the same with me. It looks like they look at your paypal history and if you have ever done a paypal dispute they will just cancel your order.
      Mine was a dispute with yoshop.com for an order that I never received even after 3 months.

        I upvoted at first too, but it's too easy for any company to offer a qty of 1 at the lowest price they've ever been, get great exposure, mailing list signups and waste people's time signing up by your stated criteria. Only a single person above has stated they successfully applied the coupon—usually far more report and say thanks for a deal with 100 upvotes.

    So, was this deal a total scam? It worked for about 2 people?

    Others reported the supplier previously canceling deals for no reason. They make you sign up for an account before you find out if the deal works.

    Seems very scammy.

      Your entire comment doesn't even make sense. Where did the only 2 people ordered come from? Where did the others report cancelled orders come from? I only see 1 mention of that.

      Perhaps we should look at the stats of the deal? 100+ votes and over 2000 clicks. There were actually 50 units for this deal and restricted to AU IP addresses only.

        There's clearly 2 people saying the supplier cancelled their order, not one, they're in the same chain.

        If there were only 50 units, that should have been mentioned. However, when you clicked on the deal, it showed 300 or so available, then they had it not work after you gave them all your info.

        I'm sure there were a lot of clicks, but 2k clicks means bugger all when there's only one confirmed that worked.

        Edit: Clear, I'm not having a crack at you. But the deal they gave you seems like it was designed to get our details, not be a deal that was going to last the full period.

          This deal was originally posted at 9pm and was unpublished as the coupon was not working which is when BA commented. No one could order. Mods republished just over an hour later when the coupon started working again.

          I found out the quantity AFTER the deal end when I asked Gearbest to extend the coupon. The website shows stock available for their own flash sale and does not reflect coupons. This has been mentioned countless times in GB deals.

          But the deal they gave you seems like it was designed to get our details, not be a deal that was going to last the full period

          I see you're new here. Have a look at Gearbest's post history. They have had hundreds of deals with hundreds of votes. They already have half of OzBargain's details and they would have nothing to gain from it.

          Besides, what's the full period? According to the rules there must be a minimum quantity of 10.

          I don't know why Clear has to make things clear for everyone. Clear has obviously found a deal, 100 or more people thought it was a deal. Cancelled or not is not clears fault clearly. So why argue over this? If your order got cancelled go and clear it with gearbest. If you got it thank clear so he/she knows that you have got it. If you missed it like me wait for another great deal.
