I'm pretty sure you're referencing the pricing error at jb hifi - that wasn't a 'normal' price on the 9 pro.

The pricing error was the Pro XL. The 9 Pro was selling at multiple retailers for $749 until sold out.

Oops - my bad. Thanks for taking the time to correct me.

This is a great offer, and targeting a different market. The battery life alone on this device makes it really appealing and the price is as good as I’ve seen.

697 for Google Pixel 9 128GB till yesterday. May come again around Black Friday https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/929740

sure

Does anyone think there will be stock available anywhere of the 9XL 9XL Pro come Black Friday?
I'm torn between a Pixel XL and the S25 FE. Budget is $1k. I've heard the Pixel battery is inconsistent, and that stock Android is becoming bloat-y.

My pixels have had a fair few issues with hardware and software. Yes the stock experience is nice, but Google uses pixels as dev devices.
Went to Samsung s23+ and it's been solid.
Users often complain about hardware issues. I think I'll look for a deal on an S24 or S25.

Pixels have the worst resale value of all the premium phones.

I get the sentiment of what you're saying, but it has to be taken in the context of the deals you can get on a pixel. An iPhone may take 3 years to lose 50% of it's value, where as a Pixel may only take 1 year from RRP. The difference is that pixel can often be gotten for a significant discount for those with patience. I've sold my old Pixel 4a and 7a on eBay for about 50% of what I paid for them after 2 to 2.5 years, not to mention the battery reimbursements from Google.
On the flip side, it also means the replacement value is cheaper so if you drop or otherwise damage your phone, it's not as big a loss.

Agree, now that I own both, the Pixel 9 Pro XL I got on the price error is worth $625 on trade in at JB. Totally trash valuation for a 1 year old 'flagship'. So far I'm finding the P9P XL is just a shit version of my 15 Pro Max… Given the trash valuation of Pixels. I was also tempted to sell my P9P XL and get a refurbished 9 Pro Fold for just over a $1,000 just to tease out the form factor. But when people say Samsung flagships fall in price shortly after release (which they do no fail, so I'm so confused why people buy them at launch), these Pixels plummet just as badly if not worse.

samsung pre order sales is when it is cheapest to get the phone

$499 should be the RRP

Perhaps you could share your work on why this should be the RRP other than just “the vibe of it”?
Interested in how you came to this observation (why not $399?)

It has 'a' in the name.

So iPhone air should be $499 too?

Is this an international version?

$587 via price beat on The Good Guys

The ugliest pixel so far.

$567.15 offered by Officeworks. Accepted as I need a 2nd phone.

Officeworks has now reduced their price to $597 to avoid price beat lol

Rip
Previous pixel a's were much cheaper on pre order

Nah, 9 Pro was only $150 more than that a few weeks ago. Way better cameras. If the 9a comes down to <$500, may think about it.
