      Just buy the Google one plan first, you get 10% credit back if you are a google one member at that level. The OP is confusing regarding this.

          It should be fine as long as you have that level of membership, just wait until credit comes through to your Google account if you want to cancel.

            @bananabendera: Not sure about that.. As under benefits it said I get 10% after June 11. Which is when the trial ends and paid sub starts.

              @Circly: When I bought my pixel 6 I definitely started off with a trial and I got the credit a month later, but I cannot for the life of me remember if I only got the credit once I paid for a month of membership after the trial or not

          You don't get the $150 credit until 24hrs after delivery, and the Google One credit takes 30 days or so to reflect. Also the 10% cash back from the Google One plan doesn't have a set amount of use. Every purchase you make from the Google store is eligible.

              @Void: The issue is not whether the Student Beans discount will still be there, the $150 credit from Google ends in 11 days May 22nd. Also your method to get each for $565 doesn't really work, because if you wait for the credit and google one credit to buy the other pixel, you'll still end up with credit when you purchase the second phone. I guess you can buy something with that credit and sell it to make up for it.

Also $600 is a hell of a lot of credit. Makes you wonder what the prices would be if they skipped all the bs and reflected that in the pricing.

                      @Void: Yeah I guess, if you buy two Pixel 7A's with the 10% off code you'll receive $300 in promo credits + $134 from Google one credit. So you'll pay $1214 or $607 each. Once all the credits hit your account, $434, you're better off buying like a Pixel watch again for $399 and selling it on marketplace or scumtree for $350 ish effectively making each Pixel 7A $432 each and still have $74 in credits. Man its a never ending cycle LMAO

    Signed up for the google one plan. No trial for me, cost me $3.85 for first month then back up to the $12 for the second month.
    Had $9 in rewards credits so not too fussed. I’ll see if the rush for codes dies down in the mega thread over the next couple of days, but if not I might just grab it at $749 as I’m due for a new phone and can use the rewards credits pretty easily.

      If you have 2TB Google One plan and can use the extra 10% to get google credit, you're left with $150+ $67 = $217, meanwhile the phone will cost you $674 from Google direct. You can then use the credit's when added to your account to get a Pixel Buds Pro, so you walk out with a Pixel 7A and Pixel Buds Pro for $674. Then you can either keep the Buds Pro or sell it for $150 ish elsewhere to recoupe some money and the Pixel 7A will end up costing you around $524 ish.

      Meanwhile with JB, you get $150 JB gift card and the Pixel 7A for $749, but I feel like JB gift card can be used for so many more items than just Google products.

      Pure monetary wise, the Google deal is better.

          Yep, as far as I am aware of. My Pixel 7A dispatched today and in a few hrs the $150 was ready to be used, I still havent seen the Google One cash back, I think that takes 30 days or so.

    I had been deliberating on Pixel 6a, but the price difference on this deal is so marginal. (Can't really get the 6a significantly cheaper). Plus the extra OS support etc

      Don't recommend Motorola phones if you want regular security updates or OS upgrades. Motorola take ages to release both and you will be months behind a Pixel if this is important to you

    If i buy Pixel 7a during my Google One trial period, Is it guaranteed that I get back 10% credit off the phone price after my first month subscription fee is deducted
    OR is there a chance that Google may consider my purchase as ineligible for 10% discount as it was bought during trail period of Google one?

    I signed up to the 2TB Google zone trial and cancelled to try to pay for the subscription and get 10% back, but the trial lasts until June and I can’t find a way to pay the $12. Anyone know a trick?

      I had an argument with Google help desk about this yesterday without success. I specifically asked them to unenrol me from Google One effective immediately and they said "good news! We'll cancel it from the end of the month!".

        I think I’ve found a (not perfect) workaround. If I upgrade to the 5TB premium account, google says they will charge me $31.49 now and I get 42 days of 5TB premium access. It means I pay $19 more but still get the $67.41 credit in 30 days, I think?

        Anyone think this won’t work so I don’t waste $31.49 unnecessarily?

    The challenge with waiting the 30 days to receive the additional $67 credit is if you plan to buy the pixel pro buds, there’s a pretty good chance they won’t be on sale then. So if you want them now it could be better to just buy with the $150 and pay the difference then use the $67 on something else down the track.

      Remember the Pixel Buds Pro are still available in fog colour for $150 outright from Optus. Price beat with Officeworks or JB price match.

        That’s a good point, however I’ll have $217.74 in google credit sitting there burning a hole in my e-wallet.
        I don’t really need headphones right now so might hold out for a few months and see what they do with the price of them.
        Be great if they did a sale for $150ish then I’d also grab their wireless charger aswell.

    Got my Pixel 7A and the LE case yesterday pretty nice lil device. I like it better than the 7 Pro just because it doesn't curve. Very snappy haven't seen any lag, people say it'll take a week+ to get the AI to kick in and optimise battery, so will see how it goes. The case is pre nice as well compared to the standard clear cases you can buy since it has textured back. Overall for the price great purchase!
