  3. This is a brand new Boost sim card.

PORTING YOUR EXISTING NUMBER TO BOOST:
You can request to port your number to Boost when activating the SIM. Before porting your number, contact your current service provider to confirm personal details. Make sure your Name and Date of Birth registered with the number are 100% correct, including spaces. Ask to update your details if anything is incorrect. Once confirmed, provide the exact same details to Boost to initiate the porting. Some carriers will send you an SMS to authorize the porting request, so make sure the current SIM is inserted until the service is disconnected. Telstra users need to contact Boost first before porting their number.

Only 10 in stock, and can be had for cheaper on ebay with their coupons though

    • Link?

      • The blood moon rises once again. Please be careful, Link!

  • There are 100 in stock, also cheaper than any deal, including coupon discounts on eBay.
    Thanks

    • Upvote for checking, unlike nearly every other Rep on here.

      • But did you check their “check”?

    • +1

Actually it's cheaper at Luckymobileau's eBay store at $162.99 with eBay plus.

      • It seems like $172.99
        Thanks

        • Mine seems to be a unique code so you might be right!

          • @namenotspecified: That's correct sometimes eBay offers targeted coupons for customers but not for all.
            Thanks for your reply though.

  • Ordered one thanks OP.

    • Thank you!

Just wondering. Are there any offers on recharge vouchers if you already have an existing Boost line?

  • +1

    Hi,
Usually, Boost recharge vouchers come at full price. So we doubt if you can find any offers on Boost recharge vouchers.
The only option is to port out and then port back in.
    Thank you

  • Recharge option: $230 / 365 days. The current $200 option will be no longer available from 1 July.

    • Hi,
Yes, Boost will increase this product's price from 04-07-2023 to $230/365 days with some extra data.
      Thanks

    • Yeah it was mentioned in this awesome bargain post.

Not much but not bad for a Sunday night Ozbargain

  • What happens if this SIM is activated after 3 July?

  • +2

It can still be activated after that date, but data inclusions might change and will be updated by Boost on 4 July or remain the same.
Also after 3 July this same product will be available for $230.00 instead $200 face value with some extra data because Boost is increasing the price for this product.
$200 sims still can be activated, as mentioned before.
    Thanks

    • Thanks for replying. Ordering one.

    • Does that mean if activated after the 4th of july there is a chance the included data might be reduced?

  • I ordered yesterday night. Paid through PayPal.
    No order confirmation received yet.

    Hi,
We cannot find out your details from this platform and also can't ask you to provide the details here. Please email us, and we will check that for you and get that sorted for you.
In the meantime, please check your email junk/spam folders for the order confirmation email. Sometimes emails can land in those folders too.
All the orders placed yesterday have been dispatched.
    Thanks

    • Thanks for your prompt response. The emails were indeed under spam folder :)

      • Not a problem at all.
        Thanks

  • So are people stashing an extra one of these for a year to activate in 2024?

    • +1

Interested in this too. Wife is on $200 plan that is expiring in Nov.

  • So is the expiry December 2024?

    • Hi,
The expiry date of the sim is Feb 2025.
      Thanks

  • Is it possible to bring my own number AND transfer ownership in the same step? My current phone number is registered to my Employer. They are allowing me to take my phone number and join new plan in my own name.

    • Hi,
      Thank you for your comment.
You will have to contact your network provider for assistance as they are the ones who can help you with this enquiry.
      Thanks

  • Bought one - thanks OP!

    4 left in stock now

    • you are welcome.

  • According to the Boost website this should support Telstra 5g, is that correct? The deal only mentions 3/4g.

    • I'm currently on Boost, I bought the discounted $200 pack last year and I get 5G. The Boost support page lists 5G on this recharge
      https://boost.com.au/blogs/help-topics/network-speeds

With porting out, I'm going to get a $2 woolworths mobile sim, how long does the process usually take, can it all be done in the same day?

  • +1

I note it states users with Telstra will need to contact Boost first.. Has anyone had any actual issues changing to Boost from Telstra? I don't really wish to continue paying Telstra's insane monthly fee! So moving to Boost makes sense in order to keep a relatively similar coverage (the speeds don't bother me, and I turn off 5G anyway!)

….Didn't wanna wait and bought one anyway lol. Will report back if I remember on whether there were any issues

    • Same question, buying mine today, please let me know of the pitfalls. Cheers.

      • +1

No issues but I did have to chat to them (can chat or call, whatever floats your boat) - couldnt do it online ('unable process this request online')

Ported and all done in about 20mins via chat! Got an email from Telstra confirming cancelled with them.

I will note, dont freak out when you activate your SIM, you'll get an email that says 'here's your new number!' which is NOT your existing number, they'll port it over after activation.

        All working well!

    • +1

I ported the whole fam over from telstra prepaid last week. No problems at all.
Number moved over within 10 minutes, speed and service is exactly the same as I was getting before.

      • Now that's what I wanna hear. Awesome. My sim just shipped and I just used the last bit of my Telstra Rewards points before I port out hehe. Cheers!

        • It's so nice to just forget about having to recharge for a year, as well as saving a bunch of pineapples.
If Telstra hadn't put the monthly minimum up to $35 I might have not gone searching for a better deal. Go figure hey.

          • @illogicalerror: I was paying 58 like a chump. So this is like a 45 dollar saving per month for me lol.

            • +1

@ReaperX22: wow mate, yeah, there's a lot of people who roll that way. Five hundred bucks plus change is definitely a nice little bonus, reckon you'll find a much better use for that.

  • Fingers crossed I can get a Boost rep to use this as a recharge. Otherwise will need to port in and out.

    • This is what they just told me when trying:

While I understand how you'd like this matter address, we can no longer activate SIM replacement in Messaging due to limited access for security requirements.

Kindly call our phone support through 125 8881 or 1800 100 933 from 8AM - 8PM AEST. (Please select option to request for a tech/fault support (Option 3, Option 5 or Press 0 repeatedly).

Rest assured that they will be able to activate your new SIM kit and keep the same phone number.

      • OK.. fingers crossed. They did it for me last year but have heard things have changed.

May need to port out for a week.

        • +1

Yeah, I couldn't be bothered calling them so I ported to a $10 vodafone prepaid sim. Only $4 at Woolies this week and the port took about 10 mins. I'll just port back next week to Boost.

          • +1

@nugstar: I'll report back to see if it can be done, otherwise will need to port out/back in.

            • @JimB: I'm curious too!

They activated mine for me last year without issues, and my current plan expiries in a couple of weeks

              • @Harold Halfprice: My current plan also expires in about 3 weeks so will request the recharge in 2 weeks.

No point requesting recharge too early in case they do it! lol

        • Why port out for a week? Is it possible to port out and back in within the same day, or is there some limitation?

          • @MarmaladeGin: I'm not sure, never done it.. I think someone mentioned a week.

I could try for longer or shorter depending on how much data the other plan has. May as well use it up if I'm paying for the other SIM

But will do it before 4th July to get 140GB, rather than 130GB* afterwards.

There's not real confirmation on the data if you recharge after 4th July, but I'm going to assume it's going to be less.

  • So you can or CA/n't recharge with this?

    • Short answer, unlikely.

      • I was going to buy another starter kit to use as a recharge as well…if not I think I'll just recharge a few weeks early before the price goes up beginning of July.

        • $166 for 140GB vs $200 for 130GB.

          • @JimB: Were you able to get reps to use the starter as a recharge in the end?

            • @BargainBoo: Was able to last year but haven’t tried this year.

  • @oztechtraders placed order for this last Wednesday using PayPal. Yet to receive a receipt via email as per your tracking advice. Is this normal?
