  • The screen brightness and ram kills this for me. I'm in the market for a 13-14" for web surfing and multimedia. Open to suggestions

    • What's up with the screen brightness on this? Don't see anything about it in specs

You're expecting 16GB of RAM in a new laptop for $600? Even if you did at that price you'd have to compromise on a lot.

To be fair the Catch description does say 8MB RAM which is "a little" on the low side …

      • It's $1300 so yeah he should be expecting 16gb

      • The main issue is that 8GB is barely useable these days once you need to load up a web browser.

        • Disagree, 8GB is fine for basic tasks such as web browsing, video playback/streaming and word processing. Of course it helps to have a higher specced desktop to do any heavier tasks though like I do but 8GB can be manageable

Lower your expectations or increase your budget

    • Need similar for a kid. Considering the Chromebook option. Seems that the well considered models (YouTube reviewed) aren't available in Aus.

  • Is the ram and storage upgradable?

    Thanks

    • RAM no, storage yes

  • Not worth the $1300 price tag but for $600 it's decent can uphrade your own ram and ssd for around $200.
