Wow, again Officeworks price beat time !!!

  • +7

USB C is only 4 month away though

    • +1

      And it won't be cheap!

    • New pricetags too.

    • +2

      I’d want more than that
      I use wireless charging anyway

    • +3

What’s the deal with this usb-c hype? It’s literally just a cable

He already received the dummy phone and it is a usb-c port

        • +5

One less cable to lug around. One less cable to charge. Just one less cable.

iPads, Macbooks, Laptops, Android phones, whole bunch of accessories and what not. All USB C.

        • +3

          One cable rules all.

        • +2

It's not 2013 for a cable like Lighting to be an innovation and "the clowns" are actually pushing for the better, which USB-C is, despite your opinion.

          • -2

@pizzaguy: You clearly missed the point. USB C is clearly the best option now, but by forcing companies to use it, it prevents them from developing newer technology to eventually replace USB C. Hence restricting innovation.

            🤡

            • +3

@PainToad: Nah, I didn't miss the point, which is - contrary to your thinking - EU forces innovation, as there's no plug more capable than USB-C and by banning others, it unifies phone interfaces to the best we have and are going to have for years to come.

        • +7

What a delusional comment. Apple continues to fail to innovate year after year and hanging onto the lightning cable to try to be different shows just how stubborn they are.

          Here’s some facts.

Transfer speeds - USB-C transfers at 40Gbps vs Lightnings 480mbps (which is equivalent to USB 2.0)

Charging speed - USB-C Native power support for 100W/3A and up to 240W/5A vs Lightnings native power support for 12W/2.4A. (Fast charging literally requires USB-C)

TLDR: It offers wider compatibility, faster data transfer rates, and increased power delivery for better fast charging.
Oh, and pretty much every piece of modern tech uses a USB-C connection.

          • -7

@Morphisis: LFMAO, who still uses a cable to transfer data or charge? Get with the times boomer.

            • @lunchbox99: I guess you either don't transfer a lot of data or have a lot of time to do that over wifi. Either way I'm jealous. Rich kids!

              • -4

@pizzaguy: Very few people have a PC with a 40Gbps USBC port. Most peoples ports will be slower. In any case, I have wifi6 and it's plenty fast enough for what I transfer.

          • @Morphisis: Small correction - it's not the port that makes transfer speeds faster, it's the usb standard it uses (e.g, USB 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, etc)

You can have a USB-C port with USB 2.0 that has transfer speeds as slow as lightning (which I've heard Apple may be doing). Although the inverse isn't true, lightning can only do 480Mbps

          • @Morphisis: Thank you, I appreciate that break down of speeds :)

    • +1

I've been waiting years for usbc, i can finally upgrade my phone in 4 months

  • Is this all time low?

    • +5

As per the camel, I can confirm this is a historical low.

      • +2

    • -3

      Is this all time low?

      No this is.

  • Have the Apple Gift Cards but effing Apple would only price match upto 10% :/

    • +1

      That’s iPhone.

  • -7

Guys just get a Pixel 7A for less than half the price.

  • I bought before actually considering whether I want it given the price..
If I decide I don't want it, can Amazon Prime members return these for free? Ta

    • +1

Yes. Or you can cancel as long as they haven’t shipped.

      • Yes.

Interested in what this is based on. There's nothing like that mentioned on the product page and Amazon's policy is that free returns are for eligible items only (ie. the ones with the wording "free returns"):

Amazon AU offers free return shipping on eligible Fashion and other items fulfilled by Amazon AU which display the “FREE Returns” message on the product detail page.

I once managed to get a free return on a minor item that didn't have "free returns" in its listing, citing confusion over this policy, but I'm not sure if Amazon would like you to drop that ~$1.5k phone at Auspost for free.

    • +1

If the listing explicitly states "free returns", then yes. Look for that wording. Otherwise nope.

  • This or 75” TCL mini led 😃

  • +1

Has anyone requested a price match to JB

    • I did this morning but Amazon had the stock at the time

      • Can you pls share the JB acknowledgement as I am facing some issues. I sent the request in the morning but they checked now and the price is gone up
. Will try with your response. thanks

  • amazon gc never sold more than 5%, i rarely find discounted amazon gc for 10%, apple gc discounted 15% sometimes, but they wont do the price match more than 10%

  • Jeez compared to the price I paid for an iPhone 14 Pro 256GB this makes me feel ripped off. It’s only about $100 more than what I saw that iPhone 13 Pros selling for when the 14 Pro hit the market.

These would definitely be AU stock via Amazon as well as Apple Stuff they tend to sell AU phones. I was thinking maybe an overseas deal. More like Apple haven’t sold enough stock this qtr abd need to move sone stock.
