I'm getting non-stop ads for this at the moment, is it any good?

    • +2

I have the slightly older version - it's really good in a pinch, but not great if you want a clean shave.

      • mine might be the previous version too.. with older iteration stubble guards

imo shaves great results are probably like a 1-3hr growth/shade

    Works well

  • Worst in terms of sharpness and closeness. Way behind from DE razor, Panasonic electric and cartridge.

Its the closest shave I have ever got from this specific style of trimmer, but it is just that, a trimmer, not a razor.

      • This one, for me, has been better than all the other electrics I've tried, like the fabled Braun series…

        I love it!

  • How is it as a facial hair trimmer (want to keep 3 days of growth) and body hair?

    • If you have thick hair, its not great. If you have thin hair, maybe better.

      • I have very thick coarse hair and it does just fine.

        • +1

If you're trimming off the thick and coarse hair completely, it does fine.

If you're trying to just trim a little, it struggles and I say that from personal experience, but it seems YMMV. Personally I have another Phillips elec shaver that does a MUCH better job at trimming.

  • Might be time to say farewell to my $10 Aliexpress trimmer… has been very reliable over the past few years though…

Nothing electric going near my walnuts cheers

    • Well that's shocking to hear.

    • Actually the older version (uses the same cartridge I think) was/is nut friendly. YMMV.

    • Sharp blade = OK?

    • No robobussy for you

  • +2

I got one just before our trip away and I am actually well impressed at its performance, no nicks or cuts at all, if the blade does last the quoted 6 months(so far so good) then ill be over the moon. Even if you want the body kit stuff, you can buy that separately and still come in under the full price with this deal. Its not a clean shave but youll never get a clean shave with this type of shaver anyway, its about as close as you will likely get it.

Had this for 4 years now. Use it every 2nd day.
Never had an issue with the battery and the blades last me around 3-4 months. Would recommend.

    • Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I've gone through a blade every 2 months using it once a week. Though I do my whole head and face, and my hair is pretty coarse.

When the blades are fresh, these things cut better than anything I've used, but they just don't last long enough for me.

      • +1

The colour diagram on the blade would have me changing it after 3 weeks. I just go by how well it cuts.

        • ive been using the same blade 1-2 per week for over a year…
only cos ive misplaced the 2 replacement blades that it came with

doesnt seem to cut as well, or the battery seems to have gone weaker?
i have to charge it more frequently than when i first got it .. before i charged it every month, now gotta do 2-3 times p/m

edit- wow actually it's been bought 2 years ago last week anniversay

  • anyone have any experience using this for shaving / trimming down below ?

    • +1

Works well, use it all the time and had only maybe 3 or 4 times where I’ve had a small cut, but nothing serious. I’ve used a few different shavers down there and found this one the best

Edit - I have the One blade Pro

I bought the body attachment - makes a difference (no nicks :) )

assuming you're female by the femme name..?

  • Almost worth it for the 2 new blades! Sell the shaver and combs for $12 and you’ve broke even.

      • Where do you live?

        • +1
