Waiting for a deal on the new A139 Pro 2ch..

    • This is better quality

      • You mean the a139 pro right? I'm thinking it might be the best option for fast cars, can catch the plate numbers a bit better

    • $350 I buy now

      • I wouldn't pull the trigger until it's around the $250 mark, I got it for less than that a while ago during a sale.

        • that would be like waiting for Bowden Green Sucker to go on sale for $19.99 but i sure hope you're right

        • btw where did you get A139 Pro 2CH for less than $250? can't see anything in ozb

    • +1

Just ordered direct from Viofo the reviews look amazing.
      Upgraded from a A119 v2
Code "VORTEX RADAR" for 20usd off

      • Nice! Did you get it from the au website?

        • +1

VORTEX RADAR would definitely be .com and not .com.au

          • @[Deactivated]: .com ships to NZ and AU
Tested code it does 20usd converted to AUD.

            • @mdell95: Be aware that I've asked .com.au in the past re warranty and they said Australia won't cover the warranty for items purchased from .com

      • weird it said "You cannot use this voucher with these products" when I select the A119 Mini V2.
I am in the .com website too

        • It's a code for the A139 only.

I'm interested in the Mini 2 too just for the new Starvis 2 sensor. But I just found out that it still can't do 60fps with HDR on like the original Mini.

    no rear camera I assume?

    • Nopes

    • Nope it doesn't say it's front and rear

  • Can I use this as rear dashcam ? already have one at the front

    • as long as there is power source, usb port / 12v socket / longer usb cable / hardwire in

    • Yes just need a power source

    • Also, you might find it difficult to save event footage whilst driving, unless you buy the Bluetooth remote.

      • It will automatically save recording when this is an accident

        • Not always.

You may also want to save footage for DCOA or another party if you witnessed an accident you weren't involved in. You can obviously stop the car, walk around to the back and press the event button manually.

          • @John Kimble: It will record if you slam the car door while it's running that's how sensitive it is by default

  • I have this and works great

    • does yours do 2k 60fps with hdr?

      • Yep you need to get a decent size SD to handle alot of video

        • But specs says HDR on its only 30fps?

      • I found out that it doesn't do 60fps with HDR on. @asa79 must've been mixed up.

        • +1

yeah agreed, received mine and on checking it turns of HDR if you select 2k60fps

  • Can these be plugged into standard usb A or C charging ports in the car as opposed to using the 12v socket? the 12v socket on my car is in a bad spot compared to the usb ports.

    • +1

depends on how much power your usb ports are putting out. if the power ratings of ports is less than what the dash cam needs it might keep on rebooting. so worth a try with the ports but if you face any issues maybe get the 12v socket replaced or hardwire the unit?

    • Yes. I run mine from a power bank so I cna move it to different vehicles.

      • Perfect thanks guys!

  • Any comments on its ability to stand Australian summer heat?

I'm seeing some online reviews mentioning how hot the Mini is running, compared to their standard-sized unit.

    • +1

following…as im in the market for a dashcam but i've read this too.

    • +1

I got before summer and live in Qld and have had no issues yet with it or any of my previous viofo dashcams

Have done a 12 hr drive with it and didn't see any heat issues at all with it

    • Last summer, Melbourne doesn't feel like having summer, so can't comment on it.

  • +3

damn wish there was a deal going on for front + rear

  • Bought one. I just needed a simple one at 60fps.

  • Do you guys know the differences between this Mini vs V2 vs V3 please?

    • V3 has higher resolution and a slightly different field of view that the V2. Both are good entry level cams. Don't know about the mini

    • ive got the v2 and v3, v3 abosolutely shits on it in quality, im able to pause video on moving cars and easily get the number plate.

with v2 i need the car to be stopped for half a sec, to be able to get the number plate, and within a couple of car lengths

      • V3 shit on quality, do you mean build quality?
However video quality is good that you are able to capture number plate from moving car?
So V3 better than V2 overall?

        • build quality, seems about the same.

yah im talking about v3 shitting on v2's video quality, i was able to pause video and easily get the number plates while my car and the other car was in motion. With V2 I would have to be stop and still and right behind the other car to get a IDable number plate.

  • This or t130 3ch?

    • If you need 3ch then this won't suit

  • Nice bought one for the rear cam. My Kia Carnival has a 12v socket in the boot. easy setup!

  • Only issue I've had so far is running out of space on a 128gb sd during a long drive so it has erase alot of previous traffic video. So might be worth getting a bigger SD card if you do heaps of driving and need to go back and look

  • Ordered one too… And then I find out that they’re about to release a V2 mini with the updated Starvis 2 sensor (nice to have) and voice command support (meh). Hopefully the pricing of the new model still makes this current purchase a bargain.

    • +1

I think V2 already released, AUD $192.26 with free shipping to AU on viofo.com, USwebsite?

      https://viofo.com/dash-cam/318-viofo-a119-mini-2-voice-contr…

    • The current version still very good

      • Yeah, I saw the comparison review, not much improvement tbh
I guess they are now clearing the V1, maybe further discount? I don’t know lol

        • I paid $149 a bit ago

This is pretty much the same price - is the bigger one better?

    • +1

      Physically bigger model

      • +1

And no wifi for app control.

The A119 V3 has been down to as low as ~$120 too

        • Thank you! Bought the mini.

  • What's the best SD card for these?

  • +1

I installed mine and did a test drive today.
Which one is better in terms of getting a good image of car plate while the other car is in motion?

    2560 x 1440 60fps?
    2592 x 1944P 30fps?

I drove on 2560 x 1440 60fps, and a car overtook me but I couldn't clearly see the number plate from the footage recorded.

    • Please try 2592 x 1944P 30fps

  • Any more stock? Unavailable :(

  • I got an A119 V3 with a Sandisk High Endurance 128G a week ago; working fine so far.
