16gb is sufficient.. 16gb is sufficient.. 16gb is sufficient.. I dont need this… I dont need this.. I dont need this…. Nothing I run needs 32gb…..

    Damnit

    Thanks OP

    • I am constantly at 10g ram nowadays without any game running…..

To be fair, 16gb is borderline if you're doing anything fancier than office work or light gaming - especially on a desktop where you multitask a lot more. For $100, the upgrade to 32 I'd definitely worth it!

      • How dare you

        • I'm a daring kinda guy

The irony is that since having 2 young kids, my gaming time is greatly reduced but I still want a high performing gaming rig.

      • You need to make choice about what to do after kids go sleep :)

    • I was in the same shoes when I saw a pair of G.SKILL 2X8G second hand on FB Marketplace selling for $25. Buy and think later:)

      • I have Crucial Ballistrix (2x8gb) which I am going to have to offload as I am running a Mini-ITX setup and only have 2 ram slots. Boo

    • 32GB is sufficient.. 32GB is sufficient…

      • Stop it.

  • time to replace 4 x 8GB yeayyyyyyyy 16+16+8+8 :)

  • Can I use this in conjunction with my current 8GBx2 Ballistix DDR4-3200 16-18-18? For a total of 48GB RAM?

    • Yes, just make sure to follow your mobo's stick pairing rules to get the best performance out of them.

  • Well received the new ram today, installed it, ran 3DMark. No difference in score. I was expecting this but dang.

    • It makes no difference on benchmark, but MS Office Softwares and Chrome under Windows 11 has eaten more than 8GB RAM on my rig without gaming. 32GB will be the mainstream within a year.
