I had never had a Steam account before I got my Steam Deck a couple months back.

I got all the stickers from the puzzle sale thing they did a month or two back.

I live to regret it, there's no way to remove them from your inventory and (profanity) if I can figure out what I'm supposed to do with them.

Personally I go through a big personal struggle every day and… Just ignore them

I know, I know, bigger issues and whatnot, but it's definitely annoying when you're selling Steam cards and whatnot and you have to sort past the stickers and other useless junk in there. Massive oversight to not let you abandon them is all I'm saying.

        • Haha fair enough! I don't ever sell anything on my Steam profile so not sure on the experience of going through the inventory

@DiscountForThee: Dude, it's so good. You can complete sets of cards and whatnot and turn them into gems and all this other bollocks I don't care about and instead, sell sell sell. I fired up Battlefront 2 the other day, and went and looked after commenting here, apparently I got 5 trading cards from it, put them up for sale at 8 cents each (average price at the moment) and they were all gone in a couple minutes, 40 cents back right there. Nothing special, sure, but if you've never looked, you might have a few hundred cards sitting there, might as well grab a few buckaroos if you don't ever use the inventory stuff socially anyways.

            • @TheDukeOfNukem: Where do you sell them and is it safe to do so? Do you use PayPal as payment? I don't know how that works but it sounds interesting

              • @OzBoganYeah: Through the Steam Community Market itself. Steam does take a substantial cut though. You receive Steam credit which you can't withdraw for cash, but can use to buy other stuff on the SCM and from the Steam store itself, ie. more games.

You can also trade them through trade subs on Reddit and whatnot, scrap.tf, though that's at your own risk and aren't managed by Steam directly. Most will trade in currency such as TF2 keys, PayPal, etc.

              • @OzBoganYeah: As Crispy said, you just go into your inventory, select the one you wanna flog, and hit sell. It then gets floated in the Steam marketplace. You can dictate how much you want to sell it for (naturally, people won't bite if you put a 5 cent card up for 5 bucks), and you'll get a little notification when it sells. I just sell at whatever the current average price is (it will be listed) and usually they get picked up pretty quickly.

Couldn't tell you why anyone wants to buy these little things, effectively as useless as any other NFT, but people seem to, and who am I to deny their money?

            • @TheDukeOfNukem: Gems aren't worth it, much better off selling the cards individually. Can definitely make a substantial amount back if you've been playing a lot with games that have trading cards.

Alternatively, if you do want the badges and XP that completing card sets give you, you also get a tradable sticker and wallpaper upon completion of each tier alongside your XP and game badge, which you can then onsell.

@CrispyChrispy: Yeah nah I just sell sell sell. I had all but one in Duke 3D and then I was like "(profanity) this who cares gimme money". I used to be a trophy whore on PlayStation, 300+ platinums. Got 80 something thousand gamerscore too but I never cared about it. By the time I've finally got around to Steam, I really couldn't care less about anything beyond games, and money to buy more games. If it's neither of those, I don't need it.
