I always found these hard to find, thought i'd share this as I found it while looking for a small form factor laptop.

From the research I did, it has pretty decent battery life which can be further increased by tweaking some setitngs yourself through ASUS's app.

Note don't expect matching performance to the bigger laptops from this 3080, as it is limited to 120W TDP. The price of these laptops are usually high because of build quality and its smaller form factor.

Also don't take my word for it, here's Jarrod's review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OO7NFWBX3Xw

  • we going backwards with these laptops?

    • Yeah with 6xxx cpu and 3xxx gpu. Weren't there 7xxx and 13th gen with 4xxx gpu already near this price?

  • +2

Decent laptop however is missing 16:10 screen and HDMI 2.1.

I guess thats what the M16 is for but its significantly more $$$!

    • …and the 2023 model still isn't in Australia yet! (the M16) ?25/5/2023

      • And the only one that is, is the 4070 model… at $4,200!

I'm awaiting the Lenovo Slim 7i Gen 8 to fill the gap

    • I thought so too when I purchased the M16, but I had a bad experience with multiple returns before I was finally granted a refund, my first bad Asus. I ended up shelling out extra for the 2022 Zephyrus Duo with the 3080 Ti Instead, so far it's been faultless.

    • M16 is a better creation laptop and maybe bit more gaming performance

this one is bit more portable and dubbed to have around 8h of battery life.

So upto people what they want.

Sadly Zephyrus series rarely ever goes on sale here lol

  • Thoughts on the G14 for $2599? https://www.centrecom.com.au/asus-rog-zephyrus-g14-14-ryzen-… or the 2023 RTX3050 version https://www.centrecom.com.au/asus-rog-zephyrus-g14-14-wuxga-…

I'm thinking of downgrading my desktop 5900x, rtx3080 to a laptop that could play all games on Med/High 1440P (not Very High or Ultra) - don't play as much games as I used to and it would be useful for work as well as I've been using my desktop for work since it's faster than the supplied one.

I've had gaming laptops in the past - hated the bulkiness and that it would only last 1-3 years before not being able to run games anymore.

Will I have that issue here?

    • G14 G15 is good for portability and battery life, if you want a proper desktop replacement I suggest probably going down the Asus ROG Strix line or other similar lineups from MSI or Gigabyte (please research). I assume you will be plugged into a wall most of the time.

    • Umart have the 4060 for $2937 at the moment: https://www.umart.com.au/product/asus-rog-zephyrus-g14-14in-…
