Only B tier speculative. Not great for a high wattage atx 3.0 unit

  • Cultists ratings are currently not as relevant as the ATX 2.4 era because their pace of reviews has slowed drastically

The king of PSU reviews - Aris Mpitziopoulos - has also taken a step back from full time reviews so Cultists has even less material to work with

Speculative B Tier at this price with a 10 year warranty and ATX 3.0 850W outputs is a blockbuster

    • Fair, but would rather pay the extra for this unit. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/773134

I think the extra 20 could be better spent in a system.

          On what?
PSUs are one of the longest lasting components in a computer, that $20 will watch as your 4070 or 13600k becomes obsolete garbage and still probably be a respectable power supply for your magic future computer.

@Lief: It has a 10year warranty. Same as the MSI.

@Noppy: I see the issue in 2 parts.
              1. Whether you trust the A/B rating thing, in which case you're paying $20 for better components or a letter
              2. What can you even upgrade in a computer meaningfully with $20? All I can think of is RAM and SSDs. GPUs and CPUs are segmented apart by a lot more than $20. you're not going to gain much performance with it, so why not throw it at a PSU that allegedly is less likely to die?

@Lief: The other one is now $249 though and this is $130.05. I assume this is still a decent PSU as I need to grab something to test a PC with graphics card (given to me)………am not across good PSUs hence checking if this is a decent buy or best watch for something better (am not rushed). I don't want to spend more than $150 though…

                • @Borg: Oh yeah i didnt see that deal was expired.
I just assumed if the guy was saying it was $20 more, it was $20 more

  • Damn maybe I shouldn't have jumped on the 750w yesterday

  • Ah damn I just paid $200 for a be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 750W. (80Plus gold)

    • Though the be quiet is A tier speculative. Anyway I’ll keep it!
