    How legit is this site?

    • 22000 likes on their fb…

Worked fine for me and activated on Steam. Paid with PayPal, got the key after getting a confirmation SMS (be sure to use your mobile phone number during sign up).

      GoGoGo!

My understanding is it's legit as in you will get your working key. However, it's not legit in that they aren't an authorized seller (ie, they are not like GreenManGaming, GetGames, Steam, GamersGate etc). They are basically like a second hand dealer. Personally I avoid any "cd-key" sites like this. I have no idea with this game, but just a heads up to read carefully with any cd-key sites, as they'll sometimes sell Russian keys, some of which require a VPN to register the game, or even play the game. For example, I believe using a Russian key for Skyrim requires you to use a Russian VPN every time you load the game, and once registered in Steam cannot be replaced by a non-Russian version.

      • the versoin they are selling is EU region free. they have limited edition completely eu region free (not russian) key. Also, they are not second hand,. they are brand new and authorised copies direct from distributors.

        • Can't you please say how you know this?

Looking at the page it states:

Standard Edition (EN, RU) - Re-stock within about 2 hours
Standard Edition (EN, FR, DE, IT, ES) - 17th August 2012
Limited Edition (EN, FR, DE, IT, ES) - In stock now! Instant Delivery

Two standard editions - the first one looks a lot like a Russian (RU) edition to me. Plus hilman posted "sleeping_dogs_standard_RUnew" (note the "RU").

The other Standard edition looks like the EU one to me, and it is not available yet, and costs $33.66.

The Limited Edition does look to be EU too, which, for what it's worth, you can currently get at at GreenManGaming (100% legit and an authorized seller of Steam keys) for 11 cents more, when using this voucher: PCGMR-GREEN-SUMMR (unsure when it expires, but was working at the time of this post)

Note that GreenMan also state: "Customer notes: Germany/Russia will receive regional keys."

Dude, GreenManGaming even bought a lot of keys from CJS CD Keys one time. GreenManGaming are no more authorised than CJS as far as selling steam keys goes.

Sorry mate, but I'm calling bullshit on that. Please show some proof of this. Are you from CJS? Your only posts so far are defending them, or defending cd-key stores, or talking them up.

GreenMan have their own software like Steam. They also provide downloads for all games they can - obviously Steamworks games can only be downloaded from Steam, so GMG do not provide downloads for those games - just like every other store on the net can't (including THQ selling their own games), when it comes to Steamworks games.

CJS is an authorized digital download seller you say? What are they doing with these discs - they only sell keys don't they?
          http://cheatingnetwork.net/forums/gaming/59974-cjs-cdkey-leg…
how do you explain this comment by CJS support staff?
"In the old days, cd key shops would sometimes get bad keys from china, which gave them a bad reputation. But good, reputable cd key shops like CJS Keys and all the others do not import from china. We import from reputable distributors within the european union."

It may not be known on this website, but it is on others - CJS are well known as a "cd-key" store. GreenMan is well known as an authorized digital download store. Some other websites even ban users from discussing cd key stores, including CJS.

Anyway, here's some other discussion on CJS for users here to decide for themselves:

          http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1495545
"Only experience I've had is them coming onto this site and disguising spam as new topics and bad-mouthing other cd-key companies."

          http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1544503
"Id also suggest staying away from CJS

I bought 2 x keys a few days apart when battlefield bad company 2 came out.

Key 1 still works fine and as it should.

Key 2 stopped working a few months ago (invalid key message when logging in)
They wont even respond to my messages that it does not work.

Pisses me off! (i know, i took the risk etc but got keys for about half price at the time)"

        • So is there a chance of my steam account being banned if i use this Russian Key?

        • I don't think so, but to be honest, I'm really just guessing there mate. I've not seen anyone get banned, and most people with other games seem to have no problems at all, and personally, while I haven't bought a Russian key before, or bought from cd keys stores, I do buy games from many different overseas stores, including 100's from the US Steam store, and have never had a problem with games from other countries registered in Steam (eg. I got uncut Left4Dead2 from the US, and other games not available in AU, like Manhunt). What you'd need to be careful of I think, is stolen keys, but I think big name cd key stores, like CJS and G2Play are not a problem in that regard. And even then, I think Valve only remove the game in question from your account, rather than ban you.

But yeah, I must stress that this is just my opinion, based on what I've read over a couple of years - I don't buy from those stores, and perhaps are overly weary of them compared to some other people - maybe to my own detriment, but I like the piece of mind.

More the worry, if I were buying a Russian key, is whether is has a regional restriction on it. When I were looking around before (after my first post above) I could not find anyone having any problems, but I did not see anyone confirm either way, and also it's not something I've been watching, so I'm going by a very small sample. I'd check out the whirlpool forums perhaps - there were some guys asking questions about Russian keys there, but with no answer to the posts I saw - maybe someone has answered already earlier? Or hopefully someone here will confirm.

As far as I know, there are plenty of games which work fine when imported from Russia, it's just that there are some that don't, and I remember a few people getting caught out with the Russian Skyrim in particular. The problem there is once it's in your account (assuming it works the same as Left4Dead2 and others), you can't "overwrite" it so to speak by buying the Aussie one later - it will always be the Russian one in your account. But if there's no restrictions/edits, then it should be no different to the Aussie one other than maybe languages or something I guess.

Apologies for such a long post there, and that I can't give a definitive answer. Hopefully someone else can answer better than me.

        • Thanks heaps mate! :) Really Appriciate it!

I have ordered from these guys before, but just went through now and did Moneybrokers, got an error message after sending my details, but my card has been charged. No sign of the order in my CJs account, nor any key/email.

    Have emailed their support.

Just bought this using Paypal, went through without problem. Their "AutoKey" system requires phone validation (it sends you an SMS pin code which you enter to claim your key) but it was quite simple, no problems at all.

Paypal charged me 15.20 GBP, so it game out to $23.68 AUD with current currency conversion, but no big deal. Still a great price.

Key itself is a photo of a Russian case, but clear and easy to read. Activated on Steam as "Sleeping Dogs (RU)" so it's the Russian version, but it's fully in English in the store page and the game itself.

  • I just Bought one, got it instantly. awesome.

  • 9/10, it's a must buy game!

  • Just ordered standard edition of sleeping dogs,

I talked with them on the ticket system. they said within about 2-5 hours more will be on stock

      • okay thanks!

Hopefully they email it to me automatically instead of me chasing it up.

  • im seeing it at $25.42 ??

    • Yeah, looks like the deal has finished. Price is showing up at $25.42 for me also

  • Yeah, I don't recommend CJays for CD Keys. Very Unreliable, bogus keys, sometimes late delivery and not the best customer service.
