Any anyone wondering this is the original Surface Dock and not the Surface Dock 2 with USB C. Differences can be found here:

    https://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft-surface-dock-vs-sur…

    Hope this helps someone

    • Yep, helps me after I ordered it… I have only seen one dock before in my life and it has USB C, so assumed this was the same. Oh well. Guess I should read the comments next time ;-)

Yep the original dock was severely lacking to properly power the surfacebooks. Would definitely recommend searching for the newer hub with USB-C front ports.

They are not much used, see photos below for general condition.

Those look quite heavily used. Did you upload the wrong photo?

    • I am not the poster of this deal mate, but that was my exact thought when I saw that picture too :)

    • Not as heavily used as my SP4 keyboard before I handed it down to my daughter lol

Wow my surface pro 3 type cover looks brand new compared to these photos

    • Stated as Good condition which is the lowest grade on the site. Sigh

      • Says excellent condition. There are a good number.

Edit: Nevermind, not sure what is excellent, description says good condition.

it's dependant on the material of the keyboard. This material is more prone to scuffing than others. Majority of it is because of the handling and stickers at the back which we had to remove

    • had one for work, this is considered alright. they can get a lot worse lol.

Good price for dock but the keyboard is way overpriced given that example. You can regularly pick up surface keyboards for $50 on Gumtree/Facebook that would be in a similar condition.

  • Does it only work for Surface? Is it compatible with PCs

    • +2

doesn't work with PCs.They have proprietary surface connector

      • Thanks helping me get this

      • Thanks you saved my $65.

I was excited to see the keyboard at that price, but then I saw the photo. Can find much better condition ones on eBay for $85 buy it now price.

I got one of the Surface 5's from the recent deal and thought this could work. Just not sure these are as gently used as described … maybe for $50 I'd bite but I think it's a bit high for the condition.

JSYK those surface docks (especially v1) are notorious for failing at the connector. Your displays will drop out, your devices will give you a message that it is not the original charger and thus charge slower, and it will sometimes not work altogether.

Also if you have a surface studio, the wattage on the v1 dock is not enough to supply the laptop.

I imagine a used one will be even more prone to these faults.

this deal only sounds good on the surface..

Docks - Better prices on ebay for the same thing from multiple sellers with multiple units

Have had version 1 and 2 at work, both suck ass. Currently can't get mouse or keyboard to work properly no matter which port I plug into, mouse will stop randomly or keyboard will get keys stuckkkkkk on at random times, it alternates between keyboard and mouse which one will have the issue. Finally resolved it by plugging keyboard directly into my Surface, defeats the purpose of a dock though!

I'm wondering if we're better off buying a third party alternative.

    • Agreed - but what are the alternatives?

  • Anyone had theirs delivered yet? Care to comment on the condition of the keyboard?

  • Just got my order this morning,

packaging wise was great, lots of bubble wrap for the dock and charger. However the hub had some sort of oily substance on it. I have tried using alcohol swabs but nothing yet, ill try more cleaning stuff later after work.

The cable also has some inner cables exposed.

    I knew I was purchasing a used product… but yeah can't say I was a little dissapointed

    • Hi, can you pm. We can work it out. We will replace the cable as it is hazardous.
