  • Do you go for this or the LG 850b?

    • This. By a lot.

      • Great. Thank you. I'll buy in the following week

    • This! very simple

  • Need neo G7s to be these prices

    • If you're referring to the QHD 240Hz VA monitors, the G6 replaced those: it's the updated model.

      • Naa the new g7s … that are twice the price…

        • With a full mini-LED backlight array… they're ok for slower HDR games, but you want that off for 240Hz usage. Better off waiting for OLED options to drop in price.

cheaper here if you can click&collect and don't need to deal with the hassle contacting the chat support etc

    • $689 is cheaper than $624?

The real deal there is for those who can make it to their Nunawading flash sale.

By your metric, the better deals are at Harvey Norman and Officeworks.

  • Why the curve, Samsung, why?

    • Have you seen a flat VA monitor? Takes a lot of expensive tricks to eliminate the horizontal viewing angle issues.

Curve isn't an issue outside of productivity.

      • Curve isn't an issue outside of productivity.

        Precisely

        • This is why we have secondary monitors these days? If it's not spreadsheet or line drawing work, it's generally going to be fine.

This is an entertainment monitor, 100%.

@jasswolf: I don't really have enough space to fit a second 27" monitor and I think staring at code looks awful on curved monitors, so my monitor needs to do double duty for games and work. My secondary monitor is just an old 24" in portrait mode that I use for documents or chat windows while doing other stuff :)

  • According to rtings:

There are various visual anomalies at lower refresh rates, like brightness, flickering, and stutter, which you can reduce by enabling the VRR Control. Furthermore, there's also some pixel inversion under specific patterns. These issues are particularly clear and distracting while using Windows' Netflix and Lightroom applications, making them unusable. However, it doesn't have scanline issues like the Samsung Odyssey G7 C32G75T.

Disappointing, I was hoping it would hiss and throw scanlines at 240Hz like the G7.

Jokes aside though, smh Samsung, maybe one day they will figure it out

They're on sale for a reason, and that reason is summed up in the rtings listings.

I had the G75 which was $599 in a sale and ended up taking it back with faulty menus, flickering, and an inability to switch sources without literally pulling the power plug.
The firwares on ALL these series of Samsungs is terrible.

I can tell you that I could not see the difference between 31.5" 1440p and 31.5" at 4k, apart from higher frame rates on 1440P.

Eventually I've gone with (maybe not as good) but very cheap AOC CQ32G3SE, which have been on sale.. I bought at $435, but saw them at $350 at mwave last week. Cannot beat that for half the price of a samsung.

Personally 1000R is too much a curve, and 1500R is about perfect from an 80cm seating position.
the 1000R is a bit too "hourglass" top and bottom, but it works ok….
