my menu log offers page is having issues loading up codes for the past week, anyone else having same issue? its just showing grey boxes where all the offers appear, but doesnt load anything.

    • Yep same here, nothing i've done fixes it tried log in and out, flush cache+cookies changed browser still same thing.

    • +2

Yeah same here, works for me on the app though so try that!

    • I had to disable menulog on my adblocker to fix that.

This is really good, for me personally. Every week, save $20, as it keeps popping in.

My favourite takeaways are the same prices on Menulog, Doordash, and Uber - so gravitating more towards Menulog in the past few months. Surely, they are losing money on this, how long is it sustainable?

I mean my average order is about $20 Inc delivery, which comes down to just over $10 Inc fees… I'm guessing Menulog is taking most of the hit, not the restaurant?

Happy to ride the gravy train but just don't understand the economics…

    • +8

The Menulog owners live on waterfront properties in the Eastern suburbs. They should be ok.

    • +2

I think you've outlined it yourself; the more people "gravitate towards Menulog" the more money they will spend on menulog over time, with or without deals happening

      • -1

Yes interesting point. But for us $ value seeking people, that strategy may not work long term, unless they keep losing cash.

I've found out, when no deals on Menulog, I use Uber (for the free delivery via the comp credit card details we get here to acquire Uberpass). This saves $2-5 otherwise spent on Menulog delivery.

No complaints, but hope they eventually don't go bust, as then it'll just be a duopoly with Doordash & Uber, in my area.

There must be something else we don't know…

        • +1

I think of it as the opposite of "whale hunting" where the constant little $1-5 here and there from thousands of people adds up over time. As a bargain hunter, it's the exact thing we are avoiding spending.

two sides of the same coin, imo

      • Especially with "stamps". Once I have a $20 credit at a place I like, I'm obviously going to buy from them again regardless.

    • +1

I have been getting meals for about $7 delivered for weeks. Would never order anything if it weren't for these vouchers and free delivery promos. Vast majority of people are not bargain hunters or even aware of these things, so Menulog will still be making their millions I am sure. But for the savvy among us, enjoy while it lasts..

If you log out or delete your account, then log back in on a throwaway account or with apple login hidden email, you can use the same code (more than once in a week) to save another 10 bucks. You can do this on the same phone/device cause they don't use it to verify, just say your name is Bill Smith and any 10 digits for phone. If you are paying with apple pay, your cc info is also obscured so they don't see it's the same customer.

    It's bulking season for OzBargain

    When have we ever shredded?…

  • Astounds me how menulog keeps absorbing all these costs.

    • +10

For every Ozbargain "OMG $15 meal for $5" customer there's 4 others in a CBD somewhere spending $70 because the $10 off enticed them in.
      They're doing fine.

  • I get a error voucher not valid for this post code :(

    • +1

You can change your address temporarily for the order to 2000 (or any otherwise accepted post code) and it usually accepts it. I have found recently one restaurant changed their settings so that when you did that trick mid-order it says the restaurant doesn’t deliver to that post code but I think this is still uncommon. The trick is popular here on OzB though and no-one seems to have reported any difficulties as long as the order shows as accepted. It won’t confuse the driver

      • I get the same error code. I tried changing to postcode 2000 but still no luck. What other postcode is accepted?

        • +1

I’m not sure at this time sorry

lets goo thanks, new code is great cant be bothered making new accounts each day

  • +1

These codes are great for when it doesn't take an hour to find a driver, and then another half an hour for them to get to the restauarant.

  • This was perfect timing.

  • +3

Menulog have been really great with these codes lately. I hope the gravy train doesn't end too soon. I haven't ordered so much consistent takeout and not felt guilty about the spend in ages! I do feel guilty about the waistline though lol

  • Dumb question but where exactly do you guys put the code in?

I'm using the app, selected a restaurant, went all the way to checkout and it's not showing me any box to put a code in?

    • +1

At the very last stage when you put your credit cards details, it says "I have a voucher code"…

      • +1

and PayPal it has that option also once you select it before clicking proceed

  • Menulog is so much better than DoorDash now. Got 2 x $5 coupons for DoorDash but everything is still so overpriced that I didn't even bother to use it

    • DD frequently have 15% off gift cards (right now it's at 4%) which counter balance their add on fees making it cost effective. ML don't.

thank you, i am having another meal tonight for $9.3 delivered. got some burger and chips from the local fish n chip shop

  • +1

Not sure if it's changed but the times used to be EST based, which is why some are having trouble with them not working. (e.g. late night code is from 7:30pm in Perth, lunch would be 8am-2pm, etc. )

  • Anyone know if the code works in Canberra without the hack?

  • Any idea's for what you can get for $15 delivered?

    • Each to their own, but I usually have a favourite local charcoal chicken n chips place for lunch, an Indian place for Biryani's, and an Asian place for awesome meat n rice/noodle combos. All come in just over $10 delivered with the voucher.

Depends on the mood and lazy factor for cooking at home, especially on cold winter nights coming home after work.

      • Do they offer free delivery? As otherwise I'd think there's not much savings after delivery and service fees. I much preferred the pick up deals previously to avoid the additional charges.

        • All 3 come under the 99 cents banner, so no biggie in the big picture, for me personally that is… as too far to walk, especially in winter.

  • +1

Booo voucher cannot be used with postcode

    • Try using 3057 as your postcode. Change the state field to be <your real postcode> <state> (e.g. 2000 NSW)

  • Looks like the lunch code only works for delivery, not for takeaway. Tried to collect, voucher was not accepted. Tried delivery and it accepted the voucher.

    • Per the title- delivery only, no pick up. The same applies to the late night code.

  • Does anyone know if its located to the local timezone or since it only works over east it works on AET?

  • +1

These never work for my postcode :/

    • Just change the postcode in your address to 3000 or other Melbourne Post codes

      • +1

I tried this but it says:
"Sorry - the restaurant doesn't deliver to your address."
        Any other work-arounds?

        • use the mobile app and create an address when ordering. then select that address. bypasses the delivery thing for me

      • +1

Managed to get it to work twice but now it's saying voucher has been used

  • +1

anyone else able to keep using this? after first use it says coucher has been used

  • how do i turn back time?

    • is it every friday
      " ?

      • +1

It should be. It says "come back on 02/06/23 for another code"

  • +5

New codes are LUNCH-DEAL and NIGHT-DEAL

    • +4

Cheers new codes work, weirdly i placed an order that didn't get accepted by the restaurant and when the order failed it gave me back a different code to what i put in…
Don't forget to re-use your voucher code when you reorder: 1UNCHDEA1
May be worth trying to see if it works for other people as it may be another copy/variant of the same code

      • +1

        1UNCHDEA1 code worked for me

        • I get 'Sorry, this voucher has already been used'.

  • Menulog service is shit. Ordered a burger at 10pm and it took almost 3 hours to arrive. Waited for 2 hours before contacting support and they kept saying it will arrive in the next 10 minutes. After cobracting them thrice, my order arrived only 45 minutes later. What a joke. Uber service is much better. Offered me a $5 voucher.. lol.

    • push for more, i received $15 in vouchers when something was ~30 minutes late and came cold

  • It's annoying that I can't use the lunch code with Mcdonalds. Best value place to order food from and a morning mcmuffin is the best

    • you can order it for the next day if you want
