Graphics Card in PC or Xbox Series X

Hi all, I have an intel 6500 CPU and 32GB ram PC but not graphics card. It has a evga 650w PSU.

I wanted to play some games such as Street Fighter 6 and the new Star Wars game.

Is it better for me to stick in a graphics card say a RX6700 / 3060ti or get an Xbox series X?

It's a personal choice, but you would be better off getting a complete console that just works and runs games as intended.

That’s a very old CPU. It will bottleneck a 3060ti.

Better off buying one of those cheap 3060ti builds on OzB for $888 that was posted recently and getting a whole new rig. Otherwise if you don’t care about PC gaming, go the console.

    • crank it to 4K so all the heavy lifting is dumped on the gpu

I'd get both. Life is too short to go without, especially if gaming is one of your only hobbies.

  • Xbox 100% unless you are prepared to upgrade that CPU/Motherboard in the new future.

  • If it's going to be plugged into the TV for just gaming, I'd go the console. Particularly if you want to game at higher resolutions, the 3060ti is a great 1440p card but takes a bit of tweaking on each game for 4K. The Xbox games are tuned right out of the box.

The CPU might be passable for gaming without too much loss at high resolutions, but it's due for an upgrade anyway with Windows 10 support dying off in the next couple of years.

thx everyone ill get the xbox

  • Not a 'fanboy' or anything, I own both ps5 and Xbox series X, but have you considered a PS5 Instead?

Xbox exclusives have been anywhere between non existent to flop central lately where as PS has some absolute bangers. Multi-plats (like the games you mentioned) will obviously be available on both anyway.

    • xbox has gamepass which is my main reason.
what are the ps5 exclusives you like?

      • Yeah gamepass is tempting, it's the same reason I bought an Xbox after already having the ps. I've just found that I have barely used it personally.

As for the PS exclusives that I've really enjoyed, some are PS4 ones that have been upgraded for ps5, but they still look and play great.

The ones that come to mind for me are,
        Days gone
        Last of us 1 + 2
        Uncharted series

There is plenty of others too, like the Spiderman series, god of war, horizon zero dawn/forbidden west.

To me it just seems like ps has way better exclusives, the only exclusive I've played on Xbox since I've had it was Forza, which is definitely a decent racing game, but not a console seller IMO.

  • PORKY NO LOS DOS

  • Check out the game pass subscription turkey deal

Recently went with that option and added an xbox series S to compliment

Cloud world's decent too and they are adding keyboard & mouse support
