Football, Tennis and Rugby Streaming Subscription, $119.99 for First Year or $12.99/m (for First 6 Months) @ beIN SPORTS Connect

101

This looks like a hidden deal for Foxtel customers but don’t need to prove you are so must be fair game.
BeIN sports is normally $20 a month so the annual offer is pretty much half price.

Great for football fans. They have loads of European football, like Serie A, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Championship, Carabao Cup, Scottish football. Plus ATP and WTA tennis and Rugby 7s.

You used to get it on Kayo and Foxtel but seems like Foxtel pulled out of the deal.

  • I’m seeing $12.99 down from $19.99. Not 50% off.
    Edit: Thanks scrimshaw.

  • Any F1?

    • Kayo has you mate

  • “Offer must be redeemed by 13 December 2023. Foxtel customers will loose authentication access to beIN SPORTS CONNECT from 1 July 2023”

    Yeah that’s a hard pass.

    Loose?
You know this word is the opposite of tight not the opposite of win

Am I able to use this subscription on my Fetch Mighty box?

  • +4

Wow, so that’s zero nada nil Soccer on foxtel and kayo from 1 July . Morons

    • super disappointing hey, at least they've put Optus sport on the iQ box although that still requires a seperate subscription

  • +2

I thought Bein is included in Foxtel sports and Kayo subscriptions. Are they no longer selling through Foxtel/Kayo? Just shows you that Serie A, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga TV isn’t worth a whole lot anymore… La Liga still gets some interest with Barca and Real Madrid, but that’s on Optus already. A bit annoying that Champions and Europa League is on Stan, FA cup on Foxtel/Kayo and League cup on whatever the league cup is on. Then A-league is on Paramount. The best thing to do is to share subscriptions with family/friends.

    • FA Cup is on Paramount+

  • How did you find this hidden deal OP? 🤫

Be well warned - This is one of the grubbiest sports streaming services around and you're in for a shockingly poor streaming experience ahead. If you thought Optus Sport was bad, these guys are 10x worse - you'll be watching everything in 720p and 25fps, even their live channels (which in comparison, on Foxtel/Kayo are shown at 1080p/50fps, so don't use that as a guide). The 720p picture is barely watchable and super fuzzy, and the constant 25fps judder you'll get on your TV will ruin any enjoyment you may otherwise get from the sports coverage. As a double whammy, there is zero customer service and zero upgrades/improvements that Bein has done to the service and app in 5+ years (which is full of issues and constantly bugging out), so what you see is what you get. Not worth $1, let alone $19.99 or the 'discounted' $12.99.

    • This is extremely disappointing to hear. I have just been in contact with BeIN Sports customer service and I can confirm that they are in the process of upgrading their streams to 1080p, which should be complete by the end of this week. However, they also confirmed that the streams are still limited to crappy 25fps and that they are only 'considering' upgrading to the proper 50fps.

      • Does it means all streams would be played in 1080p after this weekend ?

        • +1

I believe it's only currently the three main channel streams that have been upgraded to 1080p. (BeIN Sports 1, 2 & 3)

          • @jmys01: Have they really improved their streaming quality to 1080p?

I’m an old Ligue 1 fan and used to have Bein Sports in Australia but the quality was awful.

Is their app stil filled with technical issues to load streams on time?

            • +1

@AJbargains: Yes, they have upgraded the stream quality for the three main channels to 1080p.

I can't comment on their app, as I'm not currently a customer. Whilst they have upgraded their video resolution to 1080p, they have not upgraded the video frame rate from 25fps to 50fps. Frame rate is more important than resolution for sports content. They say they are working on upgrading the frame rate, but they haven't given a time frame for when this might be done. I won't sign up until they have implemented the frame rate upgrade, as I refuse to pay for 25fps streams.

    • Anyone have feedback on the quality of stream lately?

Looking to sign up but at 720/25, don't think i can bear it….

      • +1

The three main channels are 1080p 25fps. Everything else is 720p 25fps. The bit rates are pretty low, and the frame rate is just terrible. Not worth signing up for unless they drastically improve the quality IMO.

        • Thanks @jmys01. Will hold off for now. The frame rate is a killer. It's a shame because they do actually have some quality broadcast rights in AU at the moment.

          • @ale10: Yeah, the frame rate is inexcusable. 50fps is the minimum standard required for sports streaming. I don't have high hopes that they will fix this anytime soon unfortunately.

      • Just signed up to check it out - the constant buffering is very annoying. Compared to Stan (and even Kayo), it's very poor quality service. I guess you get what you pay for.

  • Foxtel customers will probably get a few months free at switch off

  • Annual is most definitely not half price. Normal BeIn is $15 a month for a year

  • Is this shareable?…Like Optus, usable on more than one screen?

  • Any sneaky subscription options via Turkey or the like ?

    • It seems to be $30/yr if you subscribe to Bein Sports Philippines. Access to all content except Rugby World Cup. Probably have to VPN to the Philippines and not sure if you can cast on TV. Can anyone try?

      • Interesting. Is the commentary in English??
