  • Damn. Nice find OP. I wish I had a Costco sub for this :(

Get a mate to get u gc lol
Also, isnt amino Z cheaper /kg?

      • It's probably better tasting too now (especially choc peanut butter)

      • Same product if ordered in 2x quantity on AminoZ is cheaper. I ordered one for myself and a friend of mine too.

Fair call, but I like this brand flavours. Prefer not to roll the dice on a new brand/flavours.

I had nothing but Optimum for years and moved to Aminoz cause of the jacked pricing. Can confirm flavours are at least equal if not better with Aminoz. Plus my body development results haven't changed. +1 from me.

@Chip Diamond: Yeah same. Plus there is more protein per serving and more volume than Optimum Nutrition at a cheaper price.

          • @Chip Diamond: Sounds like it's worth a shot, cheers!

@Darkheartz: @Darkheartz let me give you a list of flavours I can vouch for:

Smooth Milk Chocolate (best one to recommend overall for anyone's taste - on par if not better than the Optimum version!)
              Chocolate
              Matcha Green Tea
              Choc Mint

              Flavours to avoid:
Aussie Choc Malt (poor aftertaste, I actually returned this one - they acknowledged it's cause they use Stevia)
Cinnamon Icing (I haven't tried it but this is the only other flavour that uses Stevia, so I would avoid it)

Or apparently if your mate buys one of those Costco gift cards for you can use it - just not for online stuff or petrol. was on news. com au recently. as a hack

Have not had this for years but recall the chocolate always tasted pretty awesome.

Extreme Milk Chocolate is the best tasting flavour. Double Rich Chocolate was too rich for me.

Extreme Milk and Vanilla ice cream were awesome

Decent price for current climate; can be had for around $125 from Nutrition Warehouse sales. I still remember when these were $61 from Amazon back in 2021.

    • Yeah they were so cheap! Not sure what has happened to cause such a price rise…

That said they do have some artificial sweeteners where aminoz does not.

    • Think this is a slightly bigger size too - most Aus stores have the 5lb tubs but this looks to be ~6lbs so slightly better value.

How is this a deal for a WPC/WPI blend?

This is a deal if it was WPI but not for a blend.

    • What are the differences?

      • WPI(Whey Protein Isolate) is more filtered/refined and that usually means you have a better ratio of protein(more) to fat/carbs(less) per equivalent amount of WPC(Concentrate). This may mean it is more readily absorbed into the body so it may be preferable for recovery.

The downside is the increased cost

A blend is mix of the two

        • +2

WPI also contains only residual lactose. Which is why as someone who is lactose intolerant WPI is the choice.

  • Anyone know what flavours Costco stock?
