Amazon and Aramex Formerly Fastway

I know no one in Australia would have had good experience with Fastway, so they had to change the name and operate as Aramex but their performance and reputation is still the same. This is solely based on my own experience and I am not opposing anyone good experience if any.

Typically, I would consider myself an average online shopper and using Amazon since 2016. I lived in two outer city suburbs and two regional NSW suburbs within this time. Whenever there is Fastway or Aramex involved, I never get the delivery. I am curious to know what my fellow OzBargainers have experienced. I brought up this topic now because from past two months or so, every Amazon product is being sent to me by Aramex and despite raising this with customer care, all they suggest is wait and once certain period is elapsed, they refund you the money.

The Amazon membership price has risen however the quality of service has gone opposite way. I went to local Aramex and the lady was such a pain when I raised the concern. She was babbling about her own issues as company does not provide her with vehicle to deliver which I do not want to hear and does not concern me.

Now worst scenario, three of my parcels from Amazon worth just around $600 are now marked as delivered and on top of that they had the courage to say that they have recorded the signature as their tracking suggested. I have raised this concern again through email and informed Amazon too. Have not heard back yet.

Has anyone experienced something similar and what actions did you take? Please share your thoughts.

Just do searches on Aramex in the Ozb Forums. (or Fastway)

I wasn't aware Aramex is Fastway rebranded

Amazon seems to use a service called Dragonfly Shipping in Brisbane, I have only had one package go missing out of dozens and dozens.

      I love Dragonfly.

But I think they are just Amazon Flex. Just seems to be regular people wearing a cheap fluro vest. Don't care, get packages.

Always loved the Fastway Aramex product review page.

How can one company be so bad?

Fastways/Aramex in my area (Coffs Harbour) has been pretty good for me. The 3 delivery people I've dealt with have been nice and haven't had anything go missing.

Beyond Coffs though… I once shipped a $1700 robot to Sydney and their tracking said it hit the Sydney warehouse and just vanished. Annoyingly, their insurance only covers upto $1500, so while we did get $1500 back, we ended up being $200 short. The worst part was that it disappeared in their warehouse, it was tracked to there and then disappeared… How does that even happen?
To top that off, support weren't very helpful and it took a while to get the money back.

Years of good deliveries ruined by one bad one. Bah.

    • Sorry to hear that. Thanks for sharing

I would love to know more about this $1700 robot if you would be so kind as to elaborate.

      • Love robot

      • I would love to know more about this $1700 robot

        Here's a pic…

haha, it was a DJI Robomaster education robot, was sent it from DJI to trial.

It's pretty cool, but couldn't justify the price for primary schools….

        • Awesome. Cheers

I know no one in Australia would have had good experience with Fastway

I've never had any issues with item delivered by them.

    • But you've only used them once. Not a fair sample size.

      • I think it was twice.

        • Do not a good service then if it took two attempts to deliver the "item".

            @Muzeeb:

Do not a good service then

Yes it sometimes last week tried.

            • @jv: I knew you would out do me 😉

    • I’ve never had any issues with the items delivered by them either… because I’ve never actually managed to get them to deliver anything in the first place.

Have had two experiences with Aramex/Fastway. Both were (profanity) atrocious. That being said, Couriers Please were even worse…

  • Google reviews against ARAMEX (Formerly Fastway) make for some light hearted reading entertainment. There are many reviews, typically all have a standard underlying tone - Poor logistics.

  • Never had any issues with Aramex, have heaps with AP lately for some reason.

  • Luckily in my area they tend to use Dragonfly, and I don't have anything but good experiences with them.

  • I have noticed with my Aramex delivery from Amazon, they say they have delivered it and there is a signature (fake) but it really turns up the next day. I suppose they have some KPI to meet and they try to combine deliveries to save money. I did get a free SSD out of this however, amazon refunded the drive and it turned up the next day anyway. I messaged Amazon and they said keep it.

    • Yep Aramex like to say things are delivered but aren't. I suppose that makes it look like they have delivered on time so they meet the KPI.

Usually it comes at a later date when it gets delivered or when you go pick it up.

There have been so many times where I've taken a day off work to wait for a delivery and they never rock up though.

  • I have the same problem but with CouriersPlease. Only time packages are lost. Amazon do refund but I doubt they claim it back. So dodgy

    • They are both as bad as each other.

  • This won't help OP, but we often have to wait a week longer than all other services. It's because that although we are in a certain postcode, we are on the fringes of regular subdivisions within 500m but apparently the local delivery arm won't finish the delivery because we are 'out of the delivery zone'. It results in Fastway/Aramex going back to the sender for more money to complete the delivery which they always pay up. Occasionally it results in the parcel being dropped to an agent, which is ok because we go past the particular deli occasionally but they once proposed dropping at a different agent 15km away…..

  • Paid for express delivery on an item on ebay recently. Bought on Thursday for shipping from Sydney to Brisbane. It was shipped with Aramax on the Thursday. It 'arrived in Brisbane depot' on the Monday.. They didn't bring it from the depot to me until Thursday. So much for express delivery.
