Hardly Normal doing the Nirto 5 i5-12500H, 16GB, 512GB SSD and RTX3050 for $1198. Arguably better value than an Asus Rog Ally.

Expensive for the 3050 vs older 3060 deals. No clue if the 3060 deals are still around..

      Yeah, they were good value.

    • Was such a good deal, got one at that price and it got stolen and insurance paid out full retail!

Man,I literally got a similar one with 3060 for cheaper a year and a half ago

Arguably better value than an Asus Rog Ally.

I know it's apples and oranges but this does run circles on the Ally. With the $100 you saved, you could get a Xbox controller as well.

    • What a strange comparison:

      Acer Nitro

A budget gaming laptop, with plastic build, that weighs over 2kg, with a CPU that has a max TDP of 95w and GPU with a TGP of up to 80w.

      Asus ROG Ally

A new handheld gaming PC device, that weighs approx 600g with a total max TDP of 30w. It should be noted that the ROG Ally when docked with the Zen4 CPU, an external Nvidia GPU would run circles over this 12th gen Intel laptop in gaming.

      • It's not that strange. You got $1300 to blow. These are the gaming options available to you. Do you go the ultra portable or the bang for buck? Do you go the big screen experience or the smaller one?

      • Both are portable gaming devices for a similar price, just a different form factor. The higher TDP is irrelevant since the battery still lasts way longer than the ROG Ally. The weight is less of a factor when you don't need to hold it the entire time.

What should REALLY be noted that is the ROG Ally with an external GPU costs double, weighs more and has to be plugged into a power socket. The cable is also comically short, so you can't hold the device while using it, you need to have an external controller anyway.

Unfortunately I think you need to do your research if you think that 95w TDP CPU plus 30/80w TGP dGPU will last longer on battery than the 30w max TDP ROG Ally whilst gaming.

The Nitro only lasts 5hrs in best case scenario for basic web browsing.
