It is worth pointing out that the P14s is essentially a T14 with some CAD certifications.

In saying that, this isn't a bad price for this spec in Thinkpad guise IMO, especially as the Gen2 was the last generation with a RAM slot as well as soldered RAM in the T\PxS series. This has 16GB soldered so you can add up to another 32GB RAM for 48GB total.

You can get a T14 Gen 3 AMD with R5 6650U for less at the moment, which makes this P14s not really a deal (except for expandable memory).

      • That is a good point (I didn't see it for lack of looking!) - definitely worth looking at as the iGPU is a huge step up in that one plus the CPU performance increase as well, could be worth the memory tradeoff.

Always with the potato 45% screens…

Seems overpriced for a near 2yo mid-spec AMD ThinkPad. Would likely have gone for around 1.5k when new (using the neverending proliferation of coupon codes).

agreed, there's a lot of hype about the new 7040 series processors, might be better off waiting a bit for real launch and reviews.
