nbn Switching Providers Questions Superloop

HI All

Firstly I feel Superloop are taking advantage of me. I am paying $119 fopr a plan they advertise for $109 (after bonus 6 months). Why dont they include their loyal customers in their current prices I dont know. I am sure if the price went up they would be charging me more.

Anyway I am thinking of switching to More and taking advantage of the 30% discount for commbank holders. Probably spoil myself with a 1GB plan.

Questions

  1. Do I have to give Superloop notice? I did read this on their website
    Cancelling your service
You may cancel your service at any time by giving Superloop thirty days’ notice (including if you do not wish to continue to use your service during the notice period).

or doesn't this apply if you are switching providers
  2. Will they give me a pro-rata refund or should I time it near the end of my billing cycle. If the later then how many days before the end should I sign with More?
  3. I am heading on a holiday for 3 weeks where I will not use my Internet. Is there anyway I can park my access with either Superloop or More and save myself almost a months access? I am guessing not but thought I would ask.
  4. I am about 10-11 months into my free nbn upgrade. I dont think I am supposed to change providers in the first 12 months. Do you think I will get penalised?
    Thanks in advance

  • I am paying $119 fopr a plan they advertise for $109 (after bonus 6 months).

If you call them they'll move you to the lower priced plan
Likely if you say you want to cancel and provide the 30 days notice they'll likely offer you a $ off for 6 mths to stay

Either way, you need to give 30 days notice and there is no pro rata refund.

Just re-apply with Superloop, their front-end and back-end system don't talk, you will get the discount :P

Can confirm. Gave up waiting on the phone to change to their new system; just signed up online as a new customer (using same details etc though). New service connected straight away, old service cancelled automatically, and my bill has the discount applied (now paying less per month for 1000/50 than I was for 250/25)

      • How do you time this properly? Given there's no pre-rate refund, do you do it a day or so before the next billing date?

Yeah, just do it a day or 2 before next billing date.

          • @MitchyD1989: But thats not 30 days notice and I dont really want to reapply with superloop I want to switch to More

      • What is the real speed and latency with them? Do you mind to share? I am thinking to switch to them from Telstra

  • Tangerine sent me a mailer with 6 month discounted prices.

    1. 30 days notice.
    2. No pro-rata refund.
    3. No parking with Superloop and More. Launtel offer this.
