"Amazon has yet to price match" is in the damn post.

  • Since it's FF, unfortunately it'll be below $30 soon.

  • I loved the PSP original but playing it now on PS5 shows me how odd a game it is. All of the content that wasn't in the original VII (i.e. the Genesis plot) is kinda meh, the only good parts are the character interactions between established VII characters.

    • i got stuck on th dr hojo challages and ended up giving up playing. will pick up the NSW version though.

Being a New South Welshman, I could never get used to the Nintendo Switch acronym.

        • everytime i see the new XBOX all i can see is the X-BONE acronym

    • I'm a massive FFVII fan but haven't played this. Heard FFVIIR-2 may work off some references/events in CC-R and the rest of the compilation. Reckon it's worth it for that, and just watch a YouTube playthrough?

      • CCR is a prequel to FF7R. Just picked up a copy today personally but others seem to strongly suggest it’s worth playing first.

      • The true answer is that we don't know.

If FFVIIR-2 was EXACTLY like FFVII original, I would have said don't play CC-R until after FFVIIR-2, but we don't know what changes they're making, and it seems possible that whatever changes they make will require knowledge from CC-R. But yeah, no idea.

  • Are Final Fantasy games generally enjoyed only by teenagers? I'm not teasing anyone but for me, I loved them as a teen but once I entered my twenties, I thought they were pretty mediocre.

I felt the same with Zelda/Super Mario games on the SNES/NES, after playing TP on the GC if felt it was more a fetchquest and lost interest pretty quickly.

    • Mostly nostalgia for non-teenagers such as myself

  • Wow that’s a huge discount. I thought the launch price was a bit too much. Wish I didn’t want to play on day one for this one.

I bought so many games from Amazon last year and nothing this year because they just don’t do discount other than price matching. Not competitive anymore.

    • Yeah. Although I'm probably going to continue my Prime membership, their deals are reactive, not proactive.

  • Need FFVII Intergrade Remaster at this price - not sure why that's still double the price of this title despite releasing a year prior

    • There’s very limited supply of physical copies for FF7R so it’s kept it’s high price. Same globally.
