Lol I initially thought it included the drone too!..

Good price ~ cheapest so far on OzB

  • Probably want to note that these are the "Standard" batteries for <249g overall. Not the "Extended" batteries which are more expensive and has a longer flight time.

Do the larger ones push the drone above 250g and then all sorts of other laws/rules apply?

      • +1

        Yes.

      • +2

        Not really anything substantial:

"If your drone weighs more than 250g, you must keep at least 5.5km away from controlled aerodromes."

        https://drone-laws.com/drone-laws-in-australia/#Notes_for_re…
        https://uavcoach.com/drone-laws-in-australia/

Honestly, if you fly that close to an airport, you're bound to be causing troubles. So it's pretty BS.

The bigger batteries is substantially better for flight time however.

I think flight time with the standard battery is fine unless your flying km's away and need time to fly back but thats illegal anyway, so if your going to break the rules regarding distance you wouldnt care about any other rules.

          • +1

@Stuntdriver: Not really. While you might not be flying the entire battery all in one go (I get around 45m on my extended battery), it is still more juice to go and means less battery swaps or having to take more batteries etc. Either case, it is still better overall to get the Extended battery over the standard as a result.

      • Depends on the country / city you plan to use your drone. In New Zealand and Japan, drones under 250g can fly more freely without a certificate. Drones over 250g may require more process / permission steps to fly legally.

    thanks grabbed one.

    Good deal ;)

Also, $293 for the Fly More Kit Plus (has the 47 minute flight time batteries vs the 34 minute) with code PWE22:

  • JB price matched this for me in store yesterday.

  • This is great and pretty much essential .

  • That's less than what a single battery costs for my drone 😅

Guess I've been living under a rock, as it looks like the government has now shelved plans for drone registration over 250g?

The Australian Government has decided to pause the planned introduction of a registration scheme for recreational drones (model aircraft) more than 250 g which was due to commence on 1 July 2023.

This is great news - that are bureaucrats tangled themselves up in their own red tape :)

    • -1

finally some good news! The Australian Government has already too much control on our lives, go away and let us have fun! These useless bureaucrats just love red tape…

        • +1

mate, you are doing a lot of assuming on my behalf, I never said no rules, but there are already a lot of limitations on drones! Too many actually, height of 150m and so on… Common sense rules are great (airports, stadiums and public places), but others (not being able to use FPV at their full potential) are just about control and ruining the fun for most people.

            • @[Deactivated]: "too much control" = above common sense/normal/reasonable control… Plain and simple… for some

  • What is the difference between mini 3 pro, Dji air3 and avata in terms of drone?

Also can Google work with other drones?

  • +1

jbhifi doing the same price through their online chat. Don't even need to send them the link

  • Great deal, thanks

  • Was hopping it was the plus kit

  • I've been waiting to get the drone + controller for under $1K. Have not seen it since Xmas, but I was not considering the mini 3 pro back then.

  • Thank god it isn’t a drone.

I didn’t need to buy a drone today but I would have for $199

  • Price is $239 now. Did I miss out?
