New JB plans include data share :)

  • Need 512gb

    • +5

      Need 1TB

  • Too bad the 300gb cant be used as nbn substitute, otherwise good deal for me

    • Put the sim in a 5G modem and go. Does Telstra restrict this?

      • +1

When I talked to them about this, they indicated that yes, they can and will block the sim if it's found to be used in a device other than a phone.
I do not know how they'd monitor this, but the danger is there.

        • I have used this plan for over a year and no problem happens.

        • +1

They have the tech that’s for sure , not sure if they enforce. In the US all the plans are unlimited data with a low limit like 5gb given for hot spotting. No idea how that works either .

    • you could put the sim into an old (or new) mobile phone and run a hotspot from there.
I am using an old android phone with the battery removed to avoid the fire hazard.

      • +1

I can do that but the wifi range is horrible

Get a router with USB tether. e.g. many Asus models.

In reality it’s probably closer to $1000 off as JB are selling the ultra for ~$500 more than other places…

    • +1

They do price match … Usually.

  • What is trade in voucher of $350 we are talking about thanks?

    • If you trade in your old phone you will get the trade in amount plus a $350 voucher on top of it.

      • Link to that?

        • Just go to the phone's page on the jb site and scroll down.

  • $100 more than last time,

Was 1450 off before and also got $250 extra gift card. At that time they also price matched Amazon for me

  • hmm looks like the max repayment to cancel the contract is $800?
    so for a Samsung s23 Ultra 256GB = $1949

    $1949 - $1550 = $399

    plus trade in $350

    $399 - $350 = $49

    cancellation fee = $800

    $49 + $800 = $849
total cost out of pocket is $849 ??

    Can someone confirm?

    • Cancellation fee is $766.67 plus one month's plan fee. $350 trade in voucher is on the top of your device value/credit offered. If you device value is more than $49 then you can swap the rest amount with gift cards. Here is the link to plan charges -

    • I think you need to stay with the plan for 1 year to get the $750 ish

Why do we still get comment like this on every single JB deal?

All loop hole are close according to comments on deals post in the past year. Tragedy of common of OZB.

  • JB Hifi Price for the phone is $1949. 1949-1550 = $399 + $99 (1st month charges) + $766.67 cancellation fee = $1264.67. Is this calculation correct?

    • Seems like a good deal without trading in

    • I think the new T&C stated you will also have to pay for the voucher for discount of the phone.

  • Samsung having a EOFY sale from 1 june. Hopefully get some good deals

  • Got my hopes up until i read it was for a $99 plan. Was hoping it would be outright for a pre-paid sim card lmao.
    Ahhhhhhhh one can dream.
