Apple Tech Question

I have recently installed an old Telstra TG797N router/modem as an access point. I've run an Ethernet cable from the LAN port of an existing access point to the LAN port of the TG797…….works perfectly, accept for 3 iPhones in the house, they will not connect to any of the existing access points or even the primary router/modem…..when you try to browse the router/modem 'settings' screen just loads.

All other devices, Google TV, PC, laptop android phones etc work fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Did you try turning them off then on again?

  • You have to join the WiFi network before accessing the router setting page. Do the wifi names show up when opening "settings -> Wi-Fi?"

  • Try turning off Private Relay under iCloud settings - long shot but see if it does anything

Also reset the iPhones network settings

  • 1, Reset network settings on all the iPhones.
    2. Your network should have only one DHCP server. If DHCP is enabled on more than one device, such as on both your cable modem and router, address conflicts might prevent some devices from connecting to the internet or using network resources.
    3. You also want to avoid double NAT situation
    4. For wifi security use WPA3 Personal setting. if your old Telstra modem combo doesn't offer this the next best one is WPA2.
