  • Are these ones you need to unwrap?

    • +1

    $0.276 per tab (Quick Maffs)

  • +5

That is $0.276 per tabbo for those with an aversion to calculators.

After being unable to find any basic Finish tablets for under 20c each, I gave the ALDI Logix ones ago. I can't tell any difference, and they're cheaper, so that's a thumbs up from me.

    • Yep the ALDI taberinos do just fine for 14c each

      • +2

I found Aldi Logix often leaves some white powdery residue on stainless steel pots and some dishes.
Any advice? Maybe overloaded with dishes? I am running a high temp full cycle on Miele.

        • +1

Probably what I mentioned below… occasionally the tabs don't fall to the bottom of the dishwasher and gets caught in between some plates. So probably got dissolved too late in the wash cycle and leaves residue. Check if the pod falls properly to the bottom of the dishwasher when the washing cycle kicks in.

          • @Smokingkills: So? How do one find out about this? Put on the raincoat and sit in the dishwasher together with dirty dishes ?

            • +1

@lovepub: One could just open the dishwasher during the wash cycle to check if the tablet went to the bottom….. but your raincoat method is worth a try if you really want to feel invested in the process. =)

          • @Smokingkills: I always throw a tab on the bottom of dishwasher.

        • +1

The white powdery residue would not be there if you use a bread board for your cocaine.

        • Is your rinse aid full and working?

          • +1

@iDroid: Yep, recently filled the rinse aid full but still had the powdery residues on stainless steel pots (not everyday event though).
I don't recall if I've ever had the residues with Finish or Fairy tabs.

        • Same experience within the past year for Aldi Logix tabs. Never had this problem a couple years back with the same product. Not sure if Aldi Logix tab has a change in formula but decided to switch back to Finish AIO (similar type of tab) and never experienced the white powdery residue.

I also use Aldi powder dishwasher and it works great. Alternated between Finish and powder.

Recently I come across a few ALDI ones that haven't dissolved in the Bosch dishwasher.
Majority of the time, no issues though

But annoying when they don't dissolve properly. No idea why though

But I have also had fairy expensive ones do similar things on the odd occasion

      • +2

Happened to me too… and finally figured it out. Turns out occasionally the tabs don't fall to the bottom of the dishwasher and gets caught in between some plates. If not enough water hits the pod to dissolve it, things don't get cleaned properly… I usually check if the pod falls properly when the washing cycle kicks in (after the pre-wash cycle).

        • +2

To resolve this problem, I started dropping the tabs directly on the base of the dishwasher

          • +5

@velvetForce: It means the tabs are only working at the pre-wash cycle…. and the main wash cycle is run with just water.

            • @Smokingkills: on my machine, the tab lock opens within 60 secs when the cycle starts which is perfect since the tabs get used right away is it intends to

Aldi Logix Platinum 18 in 1

    • -1

Same, I tried the 18 in 1 Aldi (about 19 cents per tablet), and won't be going back to Finish. The trick is to throw them in the bottom of the dishwasher, not in the door slot. Finish tablets were getting to expensive compared to the performance of other brands.

      • +6

Basically, you use your dishwasher in a wrong way to save 6 cents.

      • +1

Then you’re using all your detergent in the short prewash and then only using hot water for the main wash.

Quality home appliances are designed by really smart engineers. When you use them differently to the way they’re meant to be used you’ll get suboptimal results.

    • The one from Coles are better then aldi and also cheaper. In my opinion it's is more reliable in getting dissolved also.

  • damn , any similar deal for non-ebay plus?

  • Is it still cheaper to use powder?

  • +3

    Aldi powder > all tabs

    • Agree, has always used tabs and since trying out powder, the results appear to come out the same as tabs.

      • Same as me $3.69 1KG powder. Lasts me around 3 weeks 2-3 loads a day.

  • Chemist warehouse has a sale for 110 Finish classic pack for $19.99 that makes them $0.1817 per tablet.

Sure they are ones without the red ball but just as good.

    • My family complains about the non ultimate ones, might be dishwasher dependent though

  • Thanks OP, I rate these althought havent tried ALDI

  • +1

Why do you use tablets over powder?

    • +1

      I use both actually

  • +1

    Oos

  • I have been using ALDI powder and tablets, but I can't quite figure out how much powder to put in as there are no directions. I've been putting in one tablespoon (using measuring spoons) and the result seem decent. Anyone with any words of wisdom regarding powder quantity?

    • 15ml of Coles powder seems about the same amount as I put in the tablet/powder holder of my LG machine. The sliding lid of the tablet holder also has a little recessed area for the pre-wash detergent. I put a lil shake there, maybe a teaspoon or so. Results are every bit as good as Finish tablets with or without the red dot.

  • +1

I alternate between the Aldi powder and Kirkland tablets don't see much difference I do add a bit of powder to the prewash to help the clean so that might help.

  • We've been using Finish Powerball Classic from the Crushed Box offer here years ago in first a Miele and now a Smeg dishwasher. They were about 8 cents a tablet and we still have YEARS left …I believe that's an all-time record low price ..they work very well but the trick is to put just the soiled dinnerware in and not half the meal.
    .😂 ..!!
