It might be the best price at the moment but the PS5 version was only $74.99 when I originally pre-ordered it back in March. Guess if you buy now with Amazon at least you have their pre-order price guarantee if it does drop back into the 70s again.

Don't play this on Ps4 guys. Better to play on Ps5.

    • +6

      Obviously

    • +6

Might be best to wait for PS6 update

Ok, you're all saying it's obvious… But can someone please enlighten me? I've googled it and found nothing compelling.

I don't want to be shelling out ~$700 on a new console just to play this game if the only reason is because the PS5 is newer than the PS4.

      • +2

if the only reason is because the PS5 is newer than the PS4

Yes, the only difference between the two consoles are their release dates and they never added any new hardware in the PS5 either. Took me a few google searches to find that but that's all there is /s

      • +2

I haven't done any research previously, but I had a quick google for you.

According to this clip, it looks to be ~3x slower in loading (~3 mins to log in, ~min per fast jump, ~30s entering dungeon).

Definitely the loading times would be annoyingly slow when jumping back to base, but if it's constant around 30fps @ 1080p, it shouldn't be too bad during gameplay. Disregarding any graphic improvements, the biggest difference is likely HDD vs SSD loading assets.

      • I have an Xbox One X (which is about equal to PS4) and the game looks terrible on it. It looked like a different game. I imagine it will be the same on PS4.
I had the chance of trying it on both Xbox one x and a PC during server slam and decided to buy the PC version despite the $34-$35 difference.

    • I like how this guy is in character

The ps4 version includes the ps5 version also. If you want to play it on ps4/ps5 I recommend buying the ps4 version.

The ps4 disc is a cross-gen version of the game. Only other way to get cross-gen is buying digitally.

      • Wow so PS4 disc includes more entitlements than PS5 disc

      • Most games let you play it on the PS5, but it's the PS4 version with a 30fps frame lock. Are you sure the PS4 disc actually gives you the PS5 version and you're not just playing the PS4 version on the PS5?

        • It's not the game that has the restriction it's the console. Diablo 4 runs at native rates and resolutions on all consoles, which can vary quite a bit.

Where's the cheapest place for the PC version?

    • +5

Been hunting and doesn't look promising for us PC master race

    • +3

Unfortunately like me who only has a PC, it's Battlenet which is still full price at the moment ($110 standard, $140 deluxe, $155 ultimate)

I bought nvidia 4070ti in March which is not available for diablo 4 redemption.
But I bought the voucher from:
      https://www.kinguin.net/c/82339/diablo-iv
Then I can activate this voucher with my 4070ti.
It cost me $72 for the standard version.

Just a tip for those who bought 4070,4070ti,4080,4090 long ago and wanna play diablo4 for a cheaper price.

      • Those that bought a 4070,4070ti,4080,4090 long ago don't care about saving a few dollars…

        • +2

On the contrary less left over for anything else

          • @CrazySurfaNZ: Maybe should have got a 3060ti and been able to afford games to play hahaha

      • Interesting, thanks. Have you confirmed this works? I ahve a 4080 but have bee nthinking about buying D4 on PS5 and just selling it when the PC version drops to a reasonable price (there's cross-platform progression so we should be able to do this without losing our saves)

        • +2

          yes, it works.
make sure you choose Diablo IV Bundle ASIA/Pacific

Keep in mind that the stock and price are both dynamic based on requirement and supply, it's price and stock change every few hours. currently it's out of stock and just keep an eye on it.
you can easily find 15% off coupon from google for this site.

my friend bought it only for $50.

          • @flypig: I did not notice but when I purchased mine, it was set to America. Will it matter?

            • @Brakus: "it was set to America", I don't know what does this mean, you mean your BattleNet set to America?

              What matters is:
Diablo IV Bundle ASIA/Pacific + activate it with Aussie IP address + PC with(4070+ graphic card)

              Other things don't matter.

              • @flypig: So when I go and check transaction history, you get a drop down for Region with options Americas, Europe and Asia. My purchase was linked to Americas. When I change the drop down to Asia, it’s blank. Not sure if I get connected to Americas server which is farther and suffer lag

                • @Brakus: I guess you can play at either region, just like Diablo2 Resurrected.

          • @flypig: so you have to have those nvidia cards for this to be valid? How would they check?

      • I see one that's 49.50 euros and after the code, it brings it down to 42.57 euros which is 70.10 AUD. Not sure about fees though but that's not such a bad price.

        • where do you see this? I can't see that at the kingpuin link

          • @maulmonk: Like the guy said above, stock and pricing changes all the time so it's just a matter of getting lucky. Right now the cheapest is 61.85 euros (oof) and it's for an xbox key.

        • Looks like there is a 10% Australia tax and booking fee slapped on top which invalidates the discount pretty much. Is there a way around this one and which code are you using ?

    • -1

      Yarrrr

    • probably won't see much discount with the RRP for a newly launched game, the best is to see if you can get battlenet discount balance/GC etc..

  • +1

    Not on switch?

    • No plans as yet, might change in the future.

  • +3

Cancelled the preorder I had on Amazon for $74.99.
May pick it up down the line but didn't really feel it when I played it briefly during the server slam.
Will stick to my pile of shame instead.

    • You literally had access to 2% of the game lol

      • +1

More content doesn't really change the core gameplay.

    • +1

What's next off of keejoonc's pile?!

    • I had the same feeling. There feels like there's something off in D3 and D4 compared to D2/D2R. Maybe a mix of different combat feel / progression, or the story or the much busier combat / visuals.

From the limited amount I played, the skill system feels less flexible than D3's, which was probably my favourite D2 to D3 change.

A lot of commentary from beta was saying that the build variety would need to be driven by legendary items as a lot of the classes push you into only a few styles of play. I guess it remains to be seen if that's the case in the full release.

  • I worry if this game can be resold later. Or is there just a one time use code.

    • I'd assume it's just like D2R - you can resell the D2R disc.

IDK what I've been smoking tonight, but there aren't any physical discs for D2R ;s

    • Just create a separate Battle.net account for the game and then resell that account if you want.

  • I play D3 very occasionally on PS4, after a few hours I stop and think, what am I doing with my life. Anyone else?

  • dumb question but no early access with this right?

    • +2

Correct. Early access is only with the overpriced digital versions.

  • So it looks like you can play offline couch co-op without ps plus

  • +1

I preordered in May and won't have my copy from Amazon until it's next week.. it's madness

    • I would definitely contact support and try to get your money back, that is madness.

      • They offered $5 off so I just cancelled
