    Sample size of 1 probably isn't representative of the actual efficacy for most. Thousands of boxes sold with 50%+ repeat client base, gives me some faith it isn't snake oil.

  They shouldn’t be marketing it for specific types of pain. Neurofen got into trouble for that a few years ago.

    Wrong. They got in trouble for having two identical products and charging more for the one without a specific condition on the box. Having pain relief actually formulated for a specific condition is fine.

    Nurofen got in trouble for advertising the same product in different packaging for different ailments. This is a specific medicine for a specific use, so nothing wrong here.

  Back in the day I used to take Mersyndol for period pain. It worked well because you were, completely, zonked out. A friend took 2 tablets and they put her in sick bay to sleep it off.

  mind = blown..

  after reading this I looked up naproxen versus ibuprofen.
  I was always under the impression that you should onky take 200-400mg of ibuprofen for a max of 3xday (normally prescribed as 'every 8 hours') thus a maximum of 1200mg/day dosage.

  Mayo clinic, uptodate, etc, etc, state different:
  They state ibuprofen:
  200-400mg every 4-6hrs. (thus maximum of 2400mg/day),,
  Almost double what I was led to believe.

  As I often see medical persons on these ozbargain posts, Id be keen to know more about my misconceptions here.
  Oh, and yes, Im aware of the dosage difference in children, and the higher risks of high doses in those with cardiovascular, stroke risks, etc, but even this was challenged in many of the results I googled.
