  • Any stacking? Nice price.

  • Any stacking? Nice price.

Not that I know of, except by using discounted eBay gift cards like Swap > EBay from Shopback app.

  • With the Dyson's, Does it have an auto mode that detects whether you are on carpet or tiles and adjust strength accordingly?

    • +1

Sorta, it detects the intensity of the surface. So when I'm using carpet it turns on to full strength (same as when it detects large amounts of dust with the laser attachment), and on tiles/floorboards it's generally on low/medium.

      • +2

Close but not quite, those are two separate technologies.
There’s dynamic load sensing (DLS) on the Motorbar which knows if you’re on hardfloor or carpet from resistance, and then the Piezo sensor which detects how much particulate it’s picking up and adjusts motor speed accordingly.

  • +1

Solid price. I still haven’t opened the v11 I bought two weeks ago lol.

    • +1

I opened mine, and its a huge upgarde from the old V8. If i didnt buy I'd be all over this. Great deal.

  • +7

    Come on Dye-son!
Need the GEN5 Detect under $900!!!!!

    • +4

It was a couple weeks back if you played your gift cards and cashback right!

  • This or Gen5detect Absolute?

    • Wait for the gen5 promo again

  • +1

    Wait for gen5 complete $950

    • Same here.
Anything <= $921 will help me pull the trigger.

  • Is this better value than the gen5 for $921?

    • +1

Nope. Upgrades on the Gen5 are worth more than $40

      • +1

What specifically, they are very close in suction power. I think only a touch more on the Gen5. And the laser is twice as bright but i never use that attachment cause it shows up too much dirt :)

I leave the roller head on 99% of the time!

        • +1

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/732894

Integrated crevice tool and removal of the trigger are the big benefits for me. I also just leave roller head on mostly.

I wouldn't pay the money to upgrade from V15, but if deciding between the 2 of want a V15 around $600 to justify the feature loss

          • +1

@cook99: Gen 15 has in built crevice tool, but has the trigger. You can get a $2 thing off ebay to hold the trigger, not a big issue

            • @Inthemix: I stand corrected!
I came from the V11 which didn't have it, it's so good 👍

I'd still pay $40 just for newer model and a real button vs eBay thing, but maybe that's just me
I'm sure both are pretty awesome

            • @Inthemix: Had another look, the V15 Absolute (this deal) has crevice tool, not integrated.

The V15 Complete has the integrated upgrade

  • Amazing price. I got it 18 months ago for like $1300! It's fantastic.

  • Is it worth an upgrade over a V10?

    • +2

If the V10 is in good condition, probably not that necessary

  • +2

got the Gen5 Detect from JB the other day for <$1k (after cashback). It definitely isn't an exaggeration how much better these recent models are to the old ones - our last one was a DC59.

    • +2

With all due respect, that (DC59) is roughly the equivalent of a V6. We are talking 3 times the battery life and 2.5 times suction power, for the V15. No exaggeration required.

    • +2

I just upgraded from the same DC59 to the Gen5Detect, holy hell what a diffference but I don't fault the old one at all, still use it for small hand held stuff since the Gen5 is like a rifle in hand.

  • +1

    Really tempting…

kind of like to wait and see how the Mop attachment works.
Anyone know if we are going to sell the Mop attachment separately so that we can buy that latter?

    • +1

What mop attachment? I skimmed through the eBay listing from this deal and saw nothing about a mop.

Only thing I saw from a brief google was an unofficial mop attachment that Dyson warns will kill your vacuum, as it’s not meant to be a wet vac.

Please let me know if I’ve missed anything

    • (Recently former Dyson staffer here).
It’s not out yet and won’t be compatible with existing models for reference. Pretty sure the V15 and 12 models that it’s designed for will have a mode that runs the head without suction like the LG Cordzero does. Should be more info toward July to my understanding

  • +2

    Wait for the gen5 team.

A lot of us got it for ~$875 a few weeks ago.
    Absolute Gen5 that is.

  • I can't even imagine paying that much money for a vacuum cleaner, so many richy rich on this bARGAIN SITE.

    • +8

Mate most of us make at least 6 figures just flipping Boost mobile profits $3 at a time

    • And then "Oh no rate rises, cost of living/inflation :'( "

    • Got to be smart to be rich. Got to be smart and rich to become richer.

  • Guessing because the new v15s will be out this month

  • Stop buying these household things and get a proper commercial vacuum for cheaper - https://shop.pacvac.com/au/velo

    • Used one of these before, fuss free and easy. But I doubt it'd clean carpets as well as the dyson.

      • But I doubt it'd clean carpets as well as the dyson.

Genuine question- what makes you say that?

        • +3

Turbine brushes are fantastic for picking up hair and animal fur. Linked vac doesn't have one

        • +1

Pretty much what buckster says below. They aren't the best at picking up hair and there's nothing to agitate the carpet fibres for a deeper clean.

    • +1

I was tempted with these, but I feel like they're for "big" jobs. I've got access to one (chorded only though) and have used it and think they're fantastic but I still think it'd be more likely to get the stick. Particularly if I've already got a robot vacuum doing the main work.

Why? mainly as a stick is quick and easy to pickup and my house is small. If I had a lot space and stairs this would probably be better. I know people who buy multiple stick vacuums just so they've got one on each level for the convenience.

Idk maybe I'm missing some more benifits though so happy to hear your opinion?

  • +1

So tempted but I refurbished my V6 once they made spare parts available and it’s still going strong

    • I have a v10 that would not break so that I can update LOL.

      • +1

I had a DC10 or something that took 25 years to finally die. I'll just have to have some kinda rotation system like put the old one downstairs or something so I can justify a new one every 10 years or so lol.

    • +1

Same! Just wash it out and replace the battery once a year…. Good as new!! Still going strong.

  • waiting on gen 5 under 800 bucks now

  • +1

How do so many people still need vaccum cleaners? I feel like there should be at least one per person floating out there in the ethos. I mean mines been going strong for 10years. Are people buying them out of need or just wanting to upgrade?

    • +2

I'm still on a V6, don't see the need for a newer Dyson for $900.

      • +1

Likewise. Still have the V6 absolute from like 6 years ago. Recently bought the v11 but would’ve purchased this if I hadn’t. My motor on the v6 doesn’t sound like it has a lot of life left.

  • is good to clean a car?

  • am I missing something "APEOFY10" at checkout gives error
"Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again"

my bad this is an afterpay promo code wtf am I the only one not willing to sign up to after pay.

  • I don't get this.$1000 for an overrated plastic stick vacuum isn't a great deal

  • I bought this 2 years ago for $1400 at the time I thought I was crazy paying that much. Honestly have zero regrets I have two story home and in 24 to 27 minutes do the whole home previously it took an hour with corded vacuum. This one picks up everything that corded vacuum missed

  • +3

ive been waiting on a deal like this for a longtime, finally going to upgrade from a V6.. about time Dyson.. but THANKS..

  • Isn't complete version better for few extra $$

  • I believe the deal on Dyson's web site is a better deal
    for $1025, you get
    - V15 Detect Complete
    - Exclusive Gold edition with 3 extra accessories and Floor Dok™ worth $228
    - Cleaning kit $99
    - 5% back via Cashrewards

  • BTW Dyson V10 $584.10 delivered using the same code, is also record low price, if anyone just want a dirt cheap Dyson (that was a pun 😉).
