Can You Please Suggest a Good Refrigerator Something Similar to This?

I am looking to buy a big refrigerator mainly because my current one is turning out to be small. I came across this one which I like.

Can you please suggest any other options similar to this? I know it depends on various factors but all I want is something similar size, double door and a bit spacious.

Thank you.

    • Remarkably similar!

      • Only to the untrained eye 😉

Whats wrong with the LG? You said you liked it…… so?

  • List the features you want, decide what is NOT negotiable, and then try to match with a "dedicated" fridge manufacturer. And expert in their field.
Factor in energy efficiency, warranty and reviews.
Keep in mind if you are going from a separate fridge and freezer, there might be a difference (loss) in overall space in the new all in one model fridge compartment.

      this is the way

      What brand/s only make fridges?

      • I'm talking brands which are synonymous with fridges, first & foremost.
Kelvinator, and F & P are the first 2 that come to mind.
Visit the white goods dump.It will give you a BIG clue who makes crap fridges. Dead 'bling heavy' fridges with TV screens and all the bells and whistles everywhere. If ppl like turning over fridges every few years g'head, go LG , Samsung etc.
The 'better' manufacturers use better and replaceable parts.Fridges are like kids. They have become a status symbol

        • Have a Hisense fridge, personally, which has well and truly outlasted the Samsung from before it

Hisense definitely aren't synonymous with making fridges, but they know how to make a good one from my experience

          • @spackbace: I hope it's a winner for you.

          • @spackbace: I’m looking for Hisense refrigerator but not a big one. Something for two people living in standard one bedroom apartment. Any good suggestions?

        • My parents have a Westinghouse that is 30+ years old. It has wire shelf racks!

          • @[Deactivated]: Yes,I forgot about Westinghouse. They've been doing it forever.

Even late to the party Whirlpool make a pretty good quality. I think they may have some relationship with F & P. (?)

@[Deactivated]: Yes, we have replaced 21-22 year old Westinghouse with the same. New ones are Thailand built, not Australian like previous ones
            .

            • @Nugs: It's an Aussie made beast! It's only ever had a freezer thingy (that stops it from defrosting) replaced & even though my parents complain that the freezer makes cracking type noises on occasion overnight, they refuse to buy a new one until it gives up the ghost.

              • @[Deactivated]: "refuse to buy a new one until it gives up the ghost"
We replaced the freezer because the old one died, and according to the plug in power meter the payback is less than 5 years. We replaced the still working pigeon pair fridge about six months later only to find a payback of over 20 years, although that will shorten as power prices increase
                .

        • Haven't F&P also made (or branded) washers (& other appliances) for at least thirty years?

          • @Dslrfirst: Yes. (can ppl not read any more?)
My point was BUY FROM A COMPANY WHO HAS MANUFACTURING FORM IN FRIDGES FOR A LONG TIME not from new kids on the block. Call it a proven track record if you like.

    • What about a Liebherr, a company that also makes the world's largest mobile cranes? Or Mitsubishi who makes a large range of products from ships to sandwich toasters and pens.

      • By all means. Track records count.
If (IF!) they have been making reliable, reputably consistently good fridges for the long haul, give it a bash. Chances are there's less shortcuts and more quality parts in companies with solid engineering backgrounds. And possibly good service & warranties. But I think MOST ppl get the point. Who wants to be buying a fridge every few years because a TV maker or stick vac specialist jumps onto the bandwagon. If you ppl lucky enough to throw grand at tinsel covered fridges every few years, to impress the rellos, and social media, knock yourselves out.
Buy fridges that last from companies with skin in the game.

        • Neither of those companies are butchers. They're quite well respected for the products they make.

          • @JIMB0: It's just an analogy. A general one.
I'm aware they are not butchers.
The last sentence was a direct hint .Every other comment before that went to the same thing.
            Bye

    Not LG or Samsung.

  • HN suggested this Hisense side-by-side

  • No ice maker?

  • We have the one you linked and it's great

LG is a good brand ,the company has come a long way from their early days, plus with Australian consumer laws and protected warranties companies don't want or need bad reviews

    • Except for Samsung, who don't give 2 flying hoots about bad reviews.

  • One with plumbed in filtered water and ice dispenser. You'll feel like a chump refilling ice cube trays if you don't.

    • nice, $31k for a fridge !?! wow.

  • We got one of these in 2020

    Quite happy with it.

One thing Dislike about the Side by Side fridges is the lack of freezer space since it is not so wide. In saying that if you do a lot of freezer items then I would get a separate chest freezer.

  • Mitsubishi made in Japan are incredible fridges. Just be aware their entry range is made elsewhere.

  • Mitsubishi are unbeatable for fridges imo.
