Predictions hard work already done for us: https://www.macrumors.com/guide/wwdc-2023-what-to-expect/

I'm looking for wild predictions, like the Fleshlight CEO giving a demonstration of VR sex attachment or something. MacOS for iPad Pro. Instant vocal translation for AirPods.

Pioneering industry leading forefront revolutionary 1st ever usb-c port on new iPhone.

        • Wow that would take 'courage'

        • +2

I guarantee it won't be called USB-C, even if it is 100% USB-C shaped and compatible.

    New Mac Pro
    New MacBook Pro
    New iOS
Rerelease of the gen 3 iPod

  • Unfortunately too early for Apple Watch ultra 2 :(

  • I am glad there are other people out there who are excited about this as well. I can't wait to see the VR goggle and the Mac Pro 🥵

  • They've only gone and did it, you can now preview multiple timers at once on iPad 🤯

  • Just here for the “android did it first”…

    Android…….

  • +2

The same devices as last year… but with a version number increase and a price increase.

  • +1

Vr headset, wow that would be amazing, why has no one thought of this before?

    • +2

No one had thought of charging US$3,499 for a VR headset before…

  • +1

Apple sheep's will pay 5k aud for the headset, what a joker price.

    • +3

And then they will go on to tell you how Apple invented the headset and it is unlike anything else on the market and how this "changes everything…. again!"

      • +1

In their defence, if Apple delivers on the promise of this headset, they kinda are changing everything again.

As much as I hate Apple sheeple, whilst Apple is generally late to market they do generally make well considered good quality products.

      • Prediction, other VR sets will start using eye/hand tracking instead of controllers.
Apple fanboys: See, Apple leads, others follow.
Apple haters: but X already had it, and it's too expensive.

        • What's funny here is that in your comment both the fanboys and haters are correct!

    • +2

And then everyone will copy the design.

And peopel will say apple is so expensive.

      Just buy a clone.

I predict Vision Pro AR/VR headset with 23 MP resolution, to be released next year for US$3500. Also, 15-inch MacBook Air available from 13 June from AU$2,199, Mac Studio M2 Ultra and M2 Max available from 13 June from AU$3,299, and Mac Pro available from 13 June from AU$12k.

Can I also get Thursday’s Powerball numbers?

        14, 23, 19, 31, 6, 28, 34 - P'ball 3

  • What Are Your Predictions?

The iSheep will be all flustered and excited.

    • ? Almost every tech enthusiast, even if they aren't 'iSheep' have an eye on this. I'm excited despite no previous interest in Meta, Oculus, Samsung, or Sony's devices. Apple isn't my favorite brand either. I have a Google Pixel and prefer it over iPhones. I have Microsoft Surface Pro and prefer it over MacBooks and iPads.

  • That Vision Pro looks crazy good

  • +3

Nobody bought the apple speaker for $1000 do you think they are gonna spend $5000 on vr goggles lmao

    • Yes probably. Early adopters, people with fractionally more money than sense (though enough sense not to buy a speaker than can be better done elsewhere).

It will be interesting to see how this product goes. People have enough trust in Apple to let them cook for 2-3 years and get it fleshed out before dropping and coin on it.
When the apple watch dropped no one was really sure how it would go, look where we are now.
Gen 3 vision pro might be the place to jump in for the normal people interested in it really. Wonder if this will get refreshed on a 2-yearly cycle like Mac computers seem to be now.

      • I avoid version 1 of any new Apple product. I let them get rid of the bugs before I step in.

    • I could see this being very useful for businesses and rich consumers.

Imagine you’re going off the plan for a house/apartment and you can get a sense of space and layout with this. See things in higher detail and interact with the space etc.

Potentially, this could be great for people with certain disabilities. As they can use voice, eye and hand movements to basically gain functionality. Instead of using a tablet/laptop/tv etc.

It’s incredibly expensive and I’d hope a cheaper model is released (doubtful) but there will be a market for it.

It will be interesting to see how it compares with Meta Quest 2.

Personally, If I wanted one. I’d wait for the Gen 2 model. As I’d imagine there’s be a few kinks which need to be worked through.

      • Only thing is you can already do all this without Apple.

        • IMO the question isn't whether you need the vision pro to do it. You don't. The question is whether you want to use the vision pro to do it. That will determine whether this is a success or not.

      • It would definitely be a huge hit in the disability community assuming apple does enough work on it. Perhaps people who can't move their hands can control it with your feet, that's something that current sets with controllers can't do.

It’s incredibly expensive and I’d hope a cheaper model is released (doubtful) but there will be a market for it.

Well there's usually a non pro version available so I'd say there will be but apple are just waiting for the tech to become cheaper.

    • Yes they are. I project it will instantly become the fifth most popular non-mobile device on campus after the AirPods, MacBook, iPads, and Surface Pro.

  • iOS 17 is nice and fluid

  • What an absolute POS
