Citizen Eco-Drive AT0200-05E Chronograph $159 Delivered @ Starbuy

260

Today's flash deal at Starbuy is a cracker. I bought the version with the white dial a couple of weeks back when it was $169 in the weekend sale, but this is another $10 cheaper yet!

It's very legible and easy to read, quite comfortable to wear, and is a nice size at a hair under 40mm (39.4mm to be exact). Note that since it's a chronograph the second hand doesn't move constantly, it will only move when the chrono is operating. Instead, the subdial at 6 o'clock acts as the second hand and will move to keep time.

Go on! You know you want it!

  • I would have prefer a white or salmon.. but you are right, this is a really nice watch

    • +1

White wine does pair nicely with salmon.

  • i think the white face one is actually slightly easier to read but this is a cracker deal regardless

I was on the fence before - I do find a darker face with light hands is easier to read in daytime conditions, but when I got the white face I find I really like it. The hands could possibly have a little thicker black outlining so my old, tired eyes could see them easier (especially without glasses), however they really do shine bright at night, though.

  • Do they offer first order x% off code?

    • No, they don't. Probably wouldn't apply to one of these sales anyway, they're usually quite a steep discount off Starbuy's normally low price.

Cheers OP, got myself bday present….

    Does @WatchNerd approve?

  • That red hand would become fused stuck in place from disuse, under my care.

    • TBH I don't think anyone really uses a chronograph function on a watch, it's just a neat thing to have now.

  • Click, click, slap

    • what is this?

      some sort of instant-buyer's-remorse reenactment?

  • Nice

I don't mind the white one linked above.

This one though? It looks like a toy you'd find in a showbag. I don't like it at all.

    • Remember when showbags used to be $10? or $15 for the premium ones.

back to topic at hand - I really like the look of the OP watch

@Watchnerd is MIA for now, but any of The Collective must step up when required.

By the power vested in me, it is my solemn duty to hereby absolve you of all blame and any residual guilt concerning the essential acquisition of this Citizen Eco-Drive horological masterpiece.

    • Oh wow! D'ya reckon you could extend the same absolution if I accidentally bought the Longines Ultra Chron that's been the object of my desire for ages now? (…and maybe convince Mrs. C she should grant the same absolution?)

      • +1

As an apprentice of The Collective, I'm not authorised to absolve anything in the used car ballpark.

If the SKMEI is too great a plastic burden, Steeldive can offer a similar case with nicely finished steel, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, excellent lume, Seiko automatic movement and 200M water resistance.
        All this for beer money.

  • Waiting for SNJ025 Arnie to go on sale
