Where Can I Post an Ad to Share The Cost of Buying Protein Powder?

Hi,

I'm trying to reach out to who might be interested in joining the bulk protein powder buying as I am buying a 20kg of Whey Protein Isolate WPI bag, made by Fonterra New Zealand (unflavoured). which is high in protein, low sugar bar formulations and low in Lactose.

Facebook marketplace and Gumtree doesn't allow such listing. Where else can I post this ad?

Even gym manager didn't agree to put this on their notice board as they are selling protein powders and they don't want any competition.

Can't post on ozbargain classifieds as users must have had an account on OzBargain for at least 1 year.

Thank you

Ozbargain classifieds - I personally would rather just buy normal bagged product. That’s just me though.

Not allowed to post there yet! Also, when you buy the bagged one, you don't know what you are getting.

Are you talking about this? https://pure-product.com/products/whey-protein-isolate-20kg-…

If so that pricing is crap. $45 p/kg is more than what AminoZ charges for flavoured protein in 1kg bags.

    • Yes, this is the product but I am buying it for $750/bag + $33 postage to me. Flavoured isn't the same quality!

      Nutrition Information per 100g
      Protein: 90g
      Total Fat: 1.3g
      Sugars: 0.4g
      Total Carbohydrate: 2.0g

AminoZ has unflavoured WPI bags too. Definitely works out to less than $40 a kg when on sale.

        From their website
        Nutrition Information per 100g
        Protein: 90g
        Total Fat: 1g
        Sugars: 1.2g
        Total Carbohydrate: 1.2g

I’d just skip the group-buy and just wait for the next sale.

        • Yeah, I've tried them before and I can tell you from my experience that New Zealand protein quality is completely different even if other suppliers protein has similar nutrients information.

          • @OneFootUp: How do you tell the difference in protein quality? Just wondering as I've never heard someone say that before when comparing WPIs

            • @blocky27: I personally tell difference with amount of fat build up, mascule mass, training performance and digestion side effects. All those rebranded protein have higher fat and carbs than what it says on the label. I've learnt not to trust resellers labels as they are not regulated by TGA and they mix soy powder with their source protein.

In addition, I consume about 3kg to 4kg of New Zealand WPI per year. While I need to consume about 7kg of other brands to maintain similar training performance and muscle mass but the down side with the rebranded ones, is fat build up. That simply shows the difference in protein quality.

@OneFootUp: Between AminoZ or BulkNutrients (who do tests and publish results) and some randos scooping out “WPI” out of a bag in the back of their car (and more expensive to boot), the latter option doesn’t sound too enticing, even if said vendor swears that they feel their product has a better “vibe”.

  • Have a look on the darkwebs … lots of people selling white powder in 1g bags.

    • I don't know anything about darkwebs! Tried to google it but I got so many links and didn't find anything related to what I am looking for. Can you please post the link.

        Shouldn't skip cerebrum day…..

  • Aren't there a heap of sellers trying to pass off milk powder as WPI? I wouldn't buy from a group buy for that reason, also prob why FB and Gumtree don't allow ads for it maybe?

    • I'm not a seller who is trying to make a profit. I am buying it for $750/bag + $33 postage to me. I just want to buy a good quality WPI. If someone else buying this product, I am happy to buy 3kg at the right price.

      • Fair enough but your random internet stranger word is worth about as much to me as the random ebay seller selling milk powder as WPI.

        • As I said, I can buy it off someone else who is looking to buy the same product. I can forward the invoice to the prospective buyer, and they can buy the 20kg and give me my 3kg share that I need. How does this sound?

          • +2

@OneFootUp: I'd rather pay an extra $5.50/kg and buy directly from Bulk Nutrients for reasons above ($2.75 difference for 4kg, etc). Has the added advantage of coming in individual 1kg sealed bags.

            • @Cheaplikethebird: I have contacted them before regarding their ultra-high certified WPI and they told me that they have no certification for it (fake advertising), further more, their wpi sourced from USA and Germany. So it is not near the quality of Fonterra New Zealand products.

      • I am happy to buy 3kg at the right price.

        From a random online ???

For a product that you ingest ???

That would require random/s to handle the supplement in order to give you the 3kg that you want to buy ???

        • You are right about this, but I don't want to complicate things. We can put on pair of gloves and open the original bag in the presence of all buyers.

Believe it or not most ebay sellers mix their protein powder with soy powder and they use low quality protein.

We are all different but I would prefer to buy the whole 20kg bag and split it with others. I have 3 people from gym who wanted 2kg each + 3kg for myself. So I need more people for the remaining 11kg

          • +1

@OneFootUp: Why complicate things by waiting for other randoms? If you're going to use the product & the use-by/best-before date is OK then simply increase the weight distribution amount between the 4 of you & get back to lifting.

            • @[Deactivated]: I usually consume about 3 to 4kg of WPI per year. Expiry date is Dec 2024. The extra 11kg still a lot for us as other three consume WPC as they have different goals.

              • +1

@OneFootUp: I mean really ….. do the others even lift …. like properly??

                • @[Deactivated]: Not sure, as we train at different times, but I can't force others to buy more.

                  • @OneFootUp: Good luck!

when you divide up the powder do it at 2am on the boot of your car in a maccas car park, set out some scales and divvy it up, record & post on youtube to claw back some of the cost

    • Remember to use a post card instead of a credit card or else OP will be there all night.

  • i would probably use the internet, its a good place to post it. glad i can help.

  • @OneFootUp have you looked at: https://www.professionalwhey.com.au/ they sell NZ grass fed WPI.

    • I don't trust these online sellers who refuse to provide documentation to prove they are selling Fonterra product. Thank you
