Wow, good deal! That's nearly half the price it was 3 weeks ago when it was posted here on OB (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/76019)

    Much more like it :)

BTW, I received and tested the 12,000mAh unit I bought off eBay (mentioned in the older Belkin post via the link above) and I managed to get 5000mAh out of it before it drained too low and switched itself off. That's fine for me though as I only really needed about that and $27 is still a reasonable price to pay for that spec. I think the way they get away with it is by totalling up the capacity of the four 3000mAh cells inside but they're series/parallel so that doesn't reflect the actual output capabiltities.

  • +1

How much current can this supply?

    • +1

more than 2.1 i know.. lols ipad needs 2.1 i think

    • +1

according to the back of the battery it says

      input 12v 1000ma
output 5v 2000ma (it has two usb ports on it tho - not sure if this is combined or what)

This is on the 4000mah one

  • Gone from the website

  • Can it charge up thru USB?

    • +1

comes with its own wall charger. altho with the right usb to dc plug cable it might be possible

      • Wall charger…. pity
Don't want to bring an extra charger just to charge this up.

        • +5

Yeh musn't be one of those infinite power models.

      • You find the roght usb cable?

  • 23+$10 shipping

    • i just got pick up. no postage needed

      • I put 2000..
And the only store showed up is in auburn.

      • where?

  • only 2000 one is available for pickup in Brisbane.

  • +20

I don't need this… so bought only one.

    • I already have the smaller version, bought one

    • Well went to pick up my 4000mah one today… having paid for it last night, and they did not have one left… refunded the money in the shop and I bought a 2000mah one they did have left. Kind of glad to be honest as this one will be more useful to me… I think.

  • Thanks for this - been looking for a portable charger like this recently.

I couldn't find pickup anywhere in Sydney so picked delivery - seems to still be worth it for $33.

  • Freekin' good deal. Great first post jinny7. I ordered 2 for delivery as a few Melbourne postcodes didn't bring up any stores. Order confirmation states the availability as "In Stock".

  • Thanks. Ordered 2 for pickup from Lutwyche. Should help with hopeless battery on my S24G.

    • Woah. Thats pretty good the one from aliexpress for only $7 more. Have you ever had the chance to measure the actual capacity of it?

      • The actual capacity of those ones have been reviewed to be about 5000mAh.

Trust me, I've looked at products from sites like DealExtreme et al in this product category, and I simply wouldn't buy them no matter how cheap they might be.

The bonus of the Belkin is that it's a known brand, will provide a decent consumer warranty, and the devices are reliable. None of things can be said of the generic and OEM style units on the aforementioned sites.

I've had the Power Pack 1000mAh unit in this line for ages, and it's a robust and reliable device. I'd rather pay a few dollars more to get something I know works and will continue to do so.

    • You're the best kind of customer for generic china made goods.

you might want to brush up on your maths skills.

12000/1500 does not equal 2 times but 8 times. However as you charge it you'll most likely get like 6 times out of it (if it is true to it's capacity)

blah blah blah you know the rest

      • +1

he was talking about the Belkin one so his maths is right(ish)

  • I pciked this up couple dayqs ago, main prob is power plug is massive not good for traveling

    • -6

      then dont travel :)

      • I got one for $22 to use for traveling flights ect will be great with my new cotd pioneer

        • How $22? Isn't shipping $10?

        • aha, someone negged me for asking a completely legitimate question???

the price is $13.50 for the 2000, and $24 for the 4000. good guys website shows $10 shipping for portable goods.

am i just really bad at maths??? aha

        • $22 instore from Moorabin DFO and asked for a cash discount

        • ah nice one! good work!

  • +1

Big props to the OP for catching this one. Just picked up the 4000mAh unit from Good Guys, and the price even with shipping is anywhere from 66-75% below the average sale price from Australian sites. Extremely great find.

  • +1

Yeah, I think even for $33 delivered it's a great deal. I bought one, found it a few days ago and posted in forum as I wasn't sure if it was a deal enough to post here. Clearly it was…

  • Just bought one. Galaxy S3 battery with NFC costs $29 shipped on ebay. Might as well get this instead and able to charge a range of devices.

  • Great price, not sure about the Belkins but have a 2000mah Sony and have been very happy with it. Its a good idea to have one of the smaller ones in your Girlfriends handbag for emergencies ;) Used it a number of times whilst travelling, very handy.

Any idea how long these things hold their charge for if you just leave them hanging around?

    • Thanks to StorageSafe technology, the Power Pack holds a charge for a long time so you’ll have power when you need it. While competitor products would be fully discharged, after being fully charged, the Power Pack can hold 95% of its charge for up to 30 days.

      (From Belkin.com)

  • Am considering the 2000mah version, but I bought the Eneloop 2500mAh Mobile Battery Booster last time (still works great)…I assume this is very similar?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/51218

    • +2

      hmmm, didn't see that deal…

aside from the lower capacity and different shape, the belkin has a higher output (1A vs 500mA, i believe), so will charge your device quicker.

the extra juice in the eneloop would be nice, but i think the shape of the belkin would make it more pocketable, and quicker charging makes it nicer too.

      • Cheers mate ;)

  • can u charge the belkin and use it to charge at the same time?

  • FYI, just picked one up from Good Guys Midland, WA. Still got a few of both sizes left on the shelf.

Pleasantly surprised how small and tactile it is. The charging block isn't small but isn't as massive as some reviews would have you believe. Good find dude.

  • For your interest, got an email saying there's no stock after placing an order online with delivery.

That's for sydney. They transfer to Rockdale store to ship

They are going to refund the $33.

    Disappointing

  • +6

Ordered and paid last night, got a call this morning that they couldn't fill my order.
"Did you order through OzBargain?" she asked.
    "What's that?" I innocently ask.
"Aparrantly it's an online store and heaps of orders came through from them, and we can't fill them all."
    Naughty ozbargain.

  • ok…just got an email saying my order has been dispatched to the nearest store with stock: Traralgon!

that store is 165Km away…so much for "within 40km" delivery. what happens now?

    • received! stickered prices were $39.95 and $69.95…$46.50 for both is not too bad!

would have preferred pickup, to save the extra $10, but screw having to drive out to traralgon!

  • Got a call this morning saying Bundall 4217 has my order ready. I asked and they said they still had some stock.

  • I'm already happy with my isound that puts out 16000 mAh, has 5 usb ports, a led light, small and light, charged my ipad2 twice fully, and iPhone 4" around 4-6times, cost around $90 from amazon. Best portable charger in the market in my opinion.

    http://www.amazon.com/i-Sound-Portable-Power-iPhone-BlackBer…

    • kind of stretches the interpretation of "portable"…:P

looks like a beast! would be awesome for flights, camping, etc, where you need a lot of juice (and have a bag to carry it in!).

i reckon one of those large capacity ones for heavy usage + one of the smaller more portable 2000mAh ones for more portable usage is a good combo to have.

i ordered one of each of the belkin ones for that purpose…but may have to invest in one of these ones with a higher capacity (>10000mAh)!

  • Thanks OP, grabbed one of these.

I've had terrible trouble with the website though… from not being able to create a user account to the paypal payment doing nothing to the "complete transaction" button taking me to a 404. Seems like I got through in the end… now just waiting for the inevitable "out of stock" email

    • yeah, i have major problems with the good guys website at work for some reason…the shopping cart works fine, but browsing anything on the actual website takes forever to load (no joking, like half an hour to load a page!).

might be something to do with javascript or something on my work computer (website works fine on my tablet).

      • next time just delete the cookies and start again, the pages speeds up

  • +1

they took both power packs off the website

  • does this charge via a micro usb? or is it some sort of proprietary plug?

    • micro usb

    • The power pack itself charges via a DC wall charger provided, not micro USB.

  • Some hole had reserved the last 6 of these at nunawading.
    Guessing someone from here.
Charging 6 devices at once hmmmm.

    • Broden?

  • WOW payed with PayPal and still have not received a refund from the Good Guys.
8 days is plenty of time.

  • Has anyone received anything from good Guys yet?

    • mine were delivered. the email said they would contact me to organise delivery, and i was worried, because the store it was assigned to was a long way away (more than 40km out, as the website said for delivery)…but was delivered fine.

    • Nothing yet here! Really annoyed actually. No contact from them what so ever. I sent them a message via the online "Contact Us" section of their website over a week ago, nothing! Will be hitting them up on (03) 9338 4300 soon! Thankfully paid with PayPal.

    • Friggin' rubbish. After 4 calls to their head office I finally get told "Ohhh…. the OzBargain deal caused a massive under-supply. Yeah, the store cancelled your order and they called everyone".

Utter crap! They didn't call me and I've had to spend time chasing them for a PayPal refund. Rubbish service at best!

      • Same here mate - had to sik PayPal on their arses to get a response.
